OU WBB Discussion & Thoughts

If OU dpesnt continue to reload, the program will slip. We lose a lot after next season and don't seem to be building toward
packing the roster to offset this. After '25-'26 the potentially top prospect signed recently will not be able to carry the team on her shoulders alone.

That top prospect will transfer if OU doesn't get their crap together.

The next time Jenny faces the press someone should get in her face and ask her how OU is going to get through next season
with 9 players and why we aren't getting anything out of the portal to fill out the squad.

You are 100% spot on!

I've been wanting someone to ask her about this and get some insight or assurance from her. The best players have already been taken and there are just a few remaining that are uncommitted that could truly contribute....just seems like they either have struck out on everyone or they aren't that concerned, which could be a major problem.

Are the local media either too timid or homies who just won't ask hard questions? Do we have to have Stephen A Smith imported to confront her?
But really wouldn't want to wish that on anybody I liked.

We dropped 2 spots down to #8 after losing to UCLA last Monday.

I've seen Baylor play 2x now and believe they are massively overrated. They barely beat UNLV, and the Duke team they beat also lost to a West Virginia team that was down to 5 players due to ejections, so they don't really have an impressive win. Talia Scott is solid, but they have zero post production, and that will definitely be an issue for them. No way would they even hang with us, IMO. Also not convinced Michigan is that good, and they jumped ahead of us after thumping a Notre Dame team that looked very soft.

Any thoughts?

Didn’t we scrimmage Baylor with this group already and win? I know it was a scrimmage, but still showed we’re better. And they would have been the first time the group played together.
I read today that Geno believes Michigan would be the hardest team for them to beat. The must be something there.

UNLV is never a easy team to play against. They ALWAYS gave us a tough game and even beat us last or the season before.

I think Baylor is pretty good. They just do not have true post present but their Guards are pretty tall to be fair. I think they are a solid top 15 team. Notre Dame will not be good. They have good players but its a no for me.

Yes we did beat Baylor, beat them by double digits.

I already knew Michigan would be good coming into this season, they basically returned everyone. And added a few good transfers to that team. They are very solid and can SHOOT extremely well. If I remember correctly they only have 2 or 3 senior on that roster this season.

Good shooting teams can be so tough to beat. Especially, if a team has perimeter problems on defense. Hoping we don’t this year. I’m excited for these SEC home games though!

Are you people really complaining about ranking that take into account actual records, and not scrimmages? OU lost to UCLA, so they drop in the rankings. Teams that win their games, rise up. OU will have plenty of chances to improve their ranking, but losing the only game you have played against a team with a pulse will drop you in the rankings for a while.

Don’t think anyone is complaining. Just discussing the teams for something to do. None of it matters, and I would actually have OU around 10-12 if I had a vote.

Nobody was complaining… You are always taking stuff out of proportion. Like please read NOT 1 person was complaining. We are literally just discussing teams and how we feel about where they are rn.

I think this Oklahoma squad can be a force to be reckoned with once we put it together, get everyone on the same page defensively and offensively. I trust Aaliyah enough to run the point, yea she will have good days, decent days and probably not so much good days but she will be ok. There is a reason Jennie trusts her. We just have to get our other freshman’s and Caya going. I’ve accepted that Beatrice won’t never be big on offense but she helps defensively and im ok with that.
I will say Jennie made it clear in her last post game interview that her she is not babying her freshman’s she has this season. She said she wants them to be playing like they already have already played 2 years in college by January. That was honestly music to my ears, I love a tough coach that wants you ready for the big games in your freshman season.

And I must say the more the freshman’s plays that come off the bench they are getting a LOT better each game. And Caya also looks to be doing well as well.

We just gotta figure out how to get, Aaliyah, Payton, Sahara, Zya and Raegan going offensively in big games. I feel like thats what we lacked against UCLA, but it was only our 2nd game of them playing together.

We'll win our share of games, make the NCAAs and probably win at least 1 game. But OU is just not in the same league as the very top echelon of
women's basketball. Those very top teams are going to whack us.
