They had some nice defensive plays together against OSU that resulted in turnovers and scores.I am excited with the improvement by Vann, Williams and and Caya Smith. Still have to build depth and fortunately we don't play to top SEC teams early on. A key to our success is also getting Zaya and Chavez to play off each other better. If they can do that they could become as good or better than Miles and Hidalgo were at Notre Dame last year. Then watch out for our Sooners. Need more quality minutes from Lofton and continued improvement by Stewart. Fun to watch.
Well SaidI think Chavez has impacted our team more than Davidson has USC. I mean, USC is not very good this year. They will probably struggle to make the tourney, from what I've seen of them so far. I think Chavez has made a noticeable difference in our efficiency (TO number) and having a taller defender at the PG position that can also shoot is going to really help us. We are more athletic and better defensively this year, and just a better all around team, that can definitely contend for an elite eight appearance, maybe even a final four appearance, depending on our bracket, it's still a long ways off. Love this team, is my point!
