The only students at a women’s basketball game are the players, band members, and the cheer squads. Maybe a handful more. Not real happy about the start time, add in that its spring break so most students are gone, crowd will be small unfortunately
LSU drew a good crowd. Tennessee and one other was decent. Rest was sparse. Non conference games usually are small, but this years non conference schedule was terrible except for North Carolina State and possibly Belmont.Has attendance at women's games been sparse this season? Surprised if so.
Not necessarily. This will be the first year of full payout from SEC. I expect it will be at least $30M more than the best year we ever had in the big 12. Certainly some of that money will be spent on all of the sports.Interesting graphic! Would be nice if we would up our spending but my guess with the men getting extra funding, the women will not.
I caught an interview with the new AD yesterday and he made a point to say that he's not only going to help increase the men's NIL, but also the women's and that we have a good thing going with Chavez and he doesn't want our forward momentum to stall on account of us not having who we need to have on our roster to compliment her. It's around the 3:44 mark in this video...It sounds promising to me!The men are at the bottom of the SEC in spending apparently. The women are not. That’s my thinking on why they won’t get a substantial increase.
That’s awesome to hear!I caught an interview with the new AD yesterday and he made a point to say that he's not only going to help increase the men's NIL, but also the women's and that we have a good thing going with Chavez and he doesn't want our forward momentum to stall on account of us not having who we need to have on our roster to compliment her. So don’t watch. They don’t have millions floating around like the top tier teams. If you want that, become their fans.OU being way, way less than average against teams their caliber or better is why they are a #4 seed, and partly why Jennie needs to evaluate things. OU beat exactly one team who was equal to them or better. The lack of talent on this team makes it hard to watch them against teams that have more than a pulse.
Did I say I wasn't a fan? Just saying why OU is a 4 seed, and why there is a ceiling on our program not present on others. So don’t watch. They don’t have millions floating around like the top tier teams. If you want that, become their fans.
Found this interesting. Looks like we are right about where we should be based on our budget.
I agree, we were really only able to win one game that we weren't supposed to win this season, which I was surprised by. Last year and before we were able to win a couple games here and there that we weren't projected to win, but that says a lot about the fortitude that players like Skylar, Liz, Lexy, Neveah played with. I thought we'd jump forwards this year, but our lack in depth and youth has really hurt us at times, and IMO, has kept us at somewhat of a standstill as far as progress goes this season, so I'm just hoping we can at least equal last year's Sweet 16 result. Next season will be interesting because we'll lose Peyton and Reagan, who are 2 of the best players ever at OU, but hopefully we have more resources and have more success in the portal,So don’t watch.
