Our progam is in shambles

Tell that to Jeff Capel who has only made a post season 2 times in 5 years at Oklahoma.

And the longest postseason streak included NIT appearances even after the field expanded to 64 teams. It is a nice accomplishment but it wasn't a run of NCAA appearances

Doesn't matter. None of the big programs (UNC, KU, duke, ucla, or Kentucky) could match it.

A&M has NEVER made it to the Elite 8 in the history of their program. And what do people around the nation think about A&M.....they don't as they are a nothing program. Just making it to the tourney and being satisfied with that is the one mentality I have disliked about OU fans like yourself. Making legitimate runs at the title and often as possible and winning one is what it is about. Can Capel get OU back in the position for a title run......highly doubtful and if that is the case then it may be time for him to go.

Who said I was satisfied with just making the tourney every year? Now you are putting words in my mouth.

However, if given a choice between multiple losing seasons and an elite 8 or consecutive tourney appearances, I would take the latter and I can guarantee you 95% of basketball fans would do the same except you and brgch.

Question, who will get to the elite 8 first as it looks today? Us or aTm?

To get to the elite 8 you have to get a tourney invite first. Losing seasons qualify you for nothing.

Because of probation which included post season bans for at least KU

Only KU was affected by that. Kentucky, UNC, and Duke all had losing seasons in the timeframe of our consecutive appearances.

You want to poo poo it because you don't remember when OU never made it to the postseason, but I do. I understand it is an accomplishment, not something given based on program status.

Did I say I would take it? I said it wasn't cut and dry IMO, but I was putting words in your mouth. Give me a break.

I have no idea about your question as I don't see A&M making it this year or the next. And basketball programs can change almost instantly with one good recruiting class.

I would take a championship and 9 losing seasons than 10 straight first round losses. What I would prefer would be the success of the football team, but the basketball team has never had an 11 year run like Stoops has and probably never will. Last years disaster may have been the death blow for at least 4 years...one down for sure.

I remember Tubbs' first years. Thanks for the nice attempt though.

I have been a season ticket holder since the Dave Bliss days and attended lots of games in the old field house when Bruce Drake was coach. I sit in the upper deck in E2 about three rows up from the rail and after looking at all the empty seats and knowing that there have been 100's of empty seats in the lower section I called the ticket office to inquire about moving down to like S2 or S3. $250 per seat was the answer, I ask why when they don't fill those seats and the ticket office explained they did not control how much was charged seats, it was the booster club and they were not part of the University. Now I ask all you smart people, how can a University give away the seating charge to an organization that is not a part of the school and they get all the money? This cannot be legal, this school belongs to the State of Oklahoma and as far as I know the booster clubs be they the Sooner Club, Fast Break Club, or what ever is not chartered by the state to allow them to collect and spend the seating money.
