Pac-12 NOT Expanding (Link)

At this point all we can hope is for Missouri to jump to the SEC. The more fallout the better IMO. We could always join with the Big Least to form east and west divisions of a new conference.....capped at 16 teams of course.

do you really hate the big 12 so much? i love it.

Boren statement:

We were not surprised by the Pac 12's decision to not expand at this time. Even though we had decided not to apply for membership this year, we have developed a positive relationship with the leadership of the conference and we have kept them informed of the progress we've been making to gain agreement from the Big 12 for changes which will make the conference more stable in the future. Stability has been our first goal and we look forward to achieving that goal through continued membership in the Big 12 Conference.

Yeesh. That's some serious spin. Not a good night for OU or David Boren.

I hate the big 12, it's a weak conference that will always be behind the PAC 12, B1G, and SEC. Adding a team such as BYU does nothing.

Yep, that is some grade-A propaganda right there.

thats what people were saying after nebraska left and we were down to 10 teams. Look at the conference this year, best football conference so far and will prob end up being #2 by the end of the year.
I don't think Mizzou leaves.
So I conference with UT and OU at top, followed by Mizzou & OSU is a good starting base. Add TCU to replace A&M & add BYU. Then cherry pick the big east.

Get new commissioner that knows what he is doing and won't let texas have advantages that other conference members can't pull off.

That can all be done this year. After that, work on pulling in a big program that seems like a long shot (arkansas, ND,etc)

No conference bball tournament in Vegas? No golf/partying with Boca in Scottsdale?

****

Whatever teams the Big XII might or might not add, it won't be a strong, stable conference until the * network is history and there is equal revenue sharing. The rest of the conference needs to get some backbone and tell Texas that they can't be a member of the Big XII and have their network. They have to choose between their network and membership in the Big XII.

Beebe needs to go. I hear Mack Brown has an opening for an assistant. That's right up Beebe's alley.

Not saying I disagree, but without the marketability of UT in the conference the Big XII significantly loses its revenue potential.

Yep. There is no Big 12 without UT. Just like there would be no Big 12 without OU.

Eventually, there will be no Big XII with UT because it won't have enough quality teams to be viable. Anyone who can find another place to go, will go.

And about revenue sharing...the only way to make it more equal is for it to be 100% equal. Which i crap but may be necessary for stability. I don't think people realize that it is fairly equal right now. And notice the teams that left...nebraska, A&M.

Nebraska voted against equal revenue sharing.
A&M was getting more revenue than everybody besides OU and texas i belive

It's all about our friend Texas with the narcissistic personality disorder and his cocaine fueled power trips. On the upside we are now free to adopt a new mascot, William "Tecumseh" Sherman, and join the SEC.

Probably couldn't do it with OSU tied to us.
