according to Gary Parrish
Parrish - "Memphis just confirmed the CBSSports.com report about Josh Pastner's new contract. It's worth $1.7 million annually."
Memphis coach Josh Pastner has inked a new five-year deal to stay with the Tigers. Sources told FOXSports.com Oklahoma never called him.
That's not accurate. A poster on rivals is best friends with Pastner and he said OU did indeed call Pastner.
I don't think the poster himself is best friends with Pastner. The poster said he's best friends with someone close to Pastner.

no he said he is best friends with Pastner.

Um, do we know this to be true? I don't read that board.
Even if so, it's possibly just Pastner being classy by not publicizing the fact that he turned us down.
In any event, doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things
What kind of mistakes are made in a phone call?

saying something stupid, low balling him, berating him for saying no thanks, a lot of mistakes can be made when talking to another person
Ok. I'm not buying it. It's not like it's the first time for OU to be hiring a coach. Sorry, but I can't see Joe C. berating anyone for saying no.
