Pat Knight fired

Not sure if BCG fits the profile of their new AD who hired the straight-laced Golden at the U. Although, Tech is a different animal in that they may need to roll the dice a bit and this early action to fire may be their preemptive move. Their new AD is the guy that was the assoc AD here at OU and he is a K-state guy so his connections are from this part of the country. It will be interesting as it unfolds.

Not so fast my friend. Heard Gillispie was staying in the Billy Tubbs room at the Sooner Legends Inn and Suites last night...

Hocutt is considered a very good young AD. I am sure he will do a good job there.

Now, he would be considered a protege of Castigliones so if he is too straight laced to take a chance on BCG, then so is Joe C.

Yes, their AD played for Stoops and Venables at KSU. He was at OU to learn under Joe C. I think they are trying to beat people to the punch. I just hope we make the move.

I just think Tech because of their location and total lack of BB tradition may have to take the chance more than an OU. I will say that I am intrigued by BCG simply because he is the kind of coach that can beat you and then trade players with the other team and beat you again. He has a system and style and recruits to it. With that said, does OU have to establish some support system to make sure he walks the line (hopefully not one painted on pavement)?

Tech needs to move quickly... they have a huge recruiting class coming in, and with the right coach have a chance to be pretty salty, but they cant afford to lose half the class. They also cant afford to have Jaye Crockett, Marshall Henderson, or Javarez Willis (the future of the program) leave.

With the right coach, Tech can turn things around pretty quickly.

There is a big difference losing with sophomores and freshmen like Capel and losing with a senior laden team like Knight. Give Kelvin or Eddie those players and they make the tournament. Some of those juco specials that everyone thought would be good players never panned out, but still they should have atleast been an NIT team.

No question Kelvin and Eddie make the tournament with Tech's current roster... they, kinda like OU, just look like a team that has no idea what its doing, especially on defense.

As for their juco guys.. Reese and Tairu are plenty talented to be starters in the Big 12. The problem was that Roberson and Singletary had poor senior seasons. Both of them had kinda given up.

I think with the right coach, and if everyone stays, Tech will again be talented and have a pretty good roster put together. They should be able to shoot the ball really well, and they are athletic.

Billy Gillespie would put them in the NIT next year.

Tech has a huge class coming in every year according to Big...
