Peyton Pritchard's Girlfriend Appreciation Thread

Guys, my conscience will not allow this to continue without setting the record straight. Like you, I was convinced that post did not exist...that is, until I found it in okhoops918's posting profile late last night. He made the post below on November 3rd of last year.

From that point forward, at least in his mind, OU was virtually dead last in the running for Trae Young. In okhoops918's now infamous predictions, the Sooners weren't usually included except as an afterthought.

Sorry if I disappointed anyone. But, while some may not believe it, I try to be fair to everyone on this board.

Thank you.

Like I said I'm just passing along the info I heard at the time, right or wrong or pissing people off. I can't help if I'm hearing OU or not.

Just a sooner basketball fan. Don't hate OSU, have family go there. More of a hurricane and sooner fan tho

Trae was OU Lean from get go for long time, the struggles we had and getting wide eye for ku and U.K hurt OU chances for a good stretch. I hate to say it but I know for a fact there was a 3 week period where he was truly happy with OSU coaches and very interested. That then fell off and it was mostly ku and OU at end with his dad being a big advocate for OU (dad originally was pro UK)
Just the info I had like I said right wrong or piss people off

If I were you, I would be more careful about the posts you make from this point forward. If you're not absolutely sure of your source, my advice is to keep the info to yourself.

I have received numerous PMs in the past few months with juicy little tidbits that never make it to the board. I may share them by PM with the other admins, but I don't like it when what started out to be nothing more than a rumor comes back to haunt me. So, I don't post what I think I know unless I can confirm it somehow.

I hope you will accept my well-intended piece of advice for whatever it's worth. Maybe nothing.

When a prognosticator covers every single base -- Dad wants him at OU, Dad wants him at KU, Trae's leaning to UK...no, KU...no, OU...no, oswho -- there's little point in posting at all. It's all just shots in the dark. I've seen nothing from this aggie fan that has suggested he ever for a moment had any inside info.

If he's such an insider, perhaps he can explain why his dad was all in on KU and then all in on OU. That doesn't ring remotely true.

And I've seen no mention anywhere, save his post, that Trae grew up an oswho fan.

I believe he stated his dad was all in on UK but Trae didn't want to go there and by the end his dad was for OU. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that was the explanation given.

We can all learn from a mistake you made. When you post something you heard, it's essentially an unsubstantiated rumor unless you can confirm it somehow. That's why I keep things like that to myself until I'm convinced what I'm being told is accurate. You can blame it on your "source" at the time, but when you post it to this board, you own it. If it comes back to bite you in the rear, you have no one to blame but yourself. When your credibility suffers until no one will believe anything you say, you may never be able to get it back. That's why it's best to proceed with caution when posting unverifiable rumors.

This is just public info but I also know it thru a connection to his family.

Like I said recruiting if FLUID. you dont have to read my posts on recruiting or you can not believe it I really dont care. I just thought that fellow OU fans at the time would have been happy to hear some info on his recruitment.

I hate to break it to you but the whole reason it takes to decide where to commit is because Dad, Mom, friends, and the recruit themselves have differing opinions and havent decided thus they are 'leaning' in different directions at different times.

Dad did not want him at OSU...ever! which is great for us but his mom wanted him close to home. Trae ultimately decided he wanted to be closer to home and not at a blue blood.

Dad like UK and KU early but ultimately was pushing for the Sooners by the end of his recruitment and taking his visits. Like I said, there was a good few week period where Trae had a rebirthed affinity for OSU but it was short lived. OU led for years prior to last fall and ultimately after taking all his visits and strongly considering elsewhere he came full circle with it and committed to this program and thats that!

I’ve grown up in Norman, I’ve grown up an Oklahoma State fan. A lot of my family members have attended OSU. Growing up being a ball boy when Coach Capel was (at OU), Blake being there, just being able to look up to those guys, it’s been fun. So I can definitely see myself going to those schools here.”

Tired of defending legit info that I was hearing from his family. It is what it is, didnt always have up to date info but i had good info at the time and shared.

If you dont want to hear recruiting info then dont read those posts or ignore I really dont care

When it comes from a blood related family member and a friend of family with the identical info it is not unsubstantiated and recruiting is FLUID! I didnt know we needed a disclaimer for every tidbit of info on a message board.

Ignore my posts if you dont want to know these things. I couldnt care less about my credibility on a message board only to share info with fellow sooner fans who may be interested

if theres truly zero posters interested or soiled panties because Trae wasn't 100% sold on OU for 100% of the time during his recruitment then I can just stop posting any info going forward or like I said you cant just ignore me

Yes, pretty much! Dad wanted blue blood and initialy UK but then thought KU could be compromise for mom. Closer to home and blue blood.

He committed to OU but KU was close 2nd....OSU distant 3rd, UK dropped off a by end!

I don't know every tidbit of info on their visits or how thing change or what they liked or dont about each but i do know the fluidity and preference changes over time during a recruiting process.

And after someone gets a pitch from a D1 head coach on a recruiting visits, their eyes tend to brigthen up....when the dust settles the answer will sometimes be totally diff than following a visit to a diff school.

ITS RECRUITING! and when you get a text that says 'TY is really enamored with OSU right now after visiting with their coaches and KU is hard after him. OU def still in mix though" I'm going to come to the board and say these things, I ask for %s from friend of fam and i post those here as well.

ignore or not I dont care. Tired of talking about it now that its in stone.

Then i get complained about not posting during dry spell of summer as if i disappeared in shame lol

omg who cares. he's here.

Maybe so. But he just rattled the sheriffs cage (which I wouldn't reccomend).

As for me, I don't mind guests, but act like a guest and quit trolling. He isn't even good at trolling...

At least Superhoops is decent at trolling.

So when you say Dad wanted OU, where did you get that from? His dad had always been anti OU....even late in the recruiting process from what was put out there...as in even a few days before his announcement.

a bunch of weird sour pusses that cant take the fact that TY actually went thru a normal recruiting process i guess

Lol. I'll stand by that you have ZERO inside info!

That's fine. You act like this opinion impacts me I'm not here to be a beloved insider or to gain your approval but you're pretty stuck on "discrediting" me as a normal poster trying to discuss the sooner bball team.

Anyway back to Pritchard...he should have an increased role at Oregon this year. Be interesting to see what he does with it. Trae is a much better prospect than Peyton but Trae also hasn't shown us anything for certain yet, potential is nba level

Your issue is me. I have no issues here.

I was referring to the post above. Us "weird sour pusses" dont have an issue that trae was doing the normal recruiting thing. The problem we have is with you , not trae

A lesson I learned long ago, but too often forget: Online, some guys just like attention -- even if (perhaps especially if) it's negative -- and will do or say almost anything to get it.

Just be a normal poster then, don't act and type like WoJo and you'll be fine. When you come here and type gospel truth that is off the wall hog wash, you're going to run into problems.

I've never known anyone who moves the goalposts more than you.

"See, I said all along he'd play in the Big 12. Everyone else is crazy for attacking me for being right."
