You're right, not terribly surprising from an 18-year-old.

Not terribly bright of him to broadcast it to the world, however. Not as a scholarship athlete representing a state school, especially one that has seen a few players get in hot water of late.

Although given recent events one might want to stay way from comments that could be taken out of context and sound a little "rapey" (to quote The League)

He expects women to put out because gas is $4.39 a gallon. Depending on his car's gas mileage, that's maybe $0.20-0.30 per mile. Assuming he lives somewhere near campus, it can't be more than a 7-8 mile drive (and far less, in all likelihood) to any other place in town. Thus, a high-end estimate of the amount of money he has to spend on gas to drive to some girl's house is $2.40 each way, or $4.80 total. In other words, his spending less than $5 (probably in the neighborhood of $1-$3) makes a woman obligated to have sex with him. That's extremely "rapey."

I think you're right, which bumps up the potential mileage a bit more. Thus, he may be spending upwards of $6-7 roundtrip on his potential sexual rendezvous.
