I would think this will probably take a few weeks to pan out...

First a replacement would need to be announced, and he would announce his staff...

And i would assume the players would wait until a coach is named also...

We don't even know who the coach is. I would guess YoYo returns, but that's it at this point.

if they are smart... Clean house on the coaches, let the new guy bring in his guys and i hope the players that want to be here, stay, its hard on kids, but its in their best interest to stay. Fitz, Bird, cam, blair, neal, newell, and cj they need to stay

You can't be serious. Our assistants were part of the reason we were in the boat we are in. They may be nice guys but I am hoping our former video director now assistant coach are coaching somewhere else.

Frankly, nothing against YO but I would love to have Darby Rich back too.

Regardless of who we hire, you'd have to think Romero Osby will stay. There's no way he'll transfer again, is there? Pledger, Fitzgerald, and Clark are obviously the big question marks.

Osby is most likely not going anywhere. He would have to sit another year and then only have one to play. Unless the NCAA granted him some sort of exception, he will be a Sooner.

Pledger's a great shooter, but I if I had to pick one player to lose from the trio of Clark, Fitz, and him, I'd pick him. I am still hopeful all three will stay, though. At the very least, I hope they wait and see who the new coach is before making a life changing decision.

Joe C. better not offer up releases before OU gets a new coach. He f'd that up last time. I hope he learned his lesson.

There is nobody to release except Goff anyway. Current players were not offered releases last time, just the signees if I remember correctly.

He's 2012. He isn't signed cuz they can't sign till Nov. No idea on what will happen with him.

Verbal commits are non-binding to school or player. I'm sure the new coach will decide quickly if Peters suits his needs or system and rerecruit him or tell him to look elsewhere.

I reailize that. That's why I said we won't have to release him or anything like that.

The last time we had a coaching staff changed we had a huge recruiting class coming, this time around we won't have that so the coach may be able to sign a team he can start to build with.

It'll be a tough first year, no doubt.
