I will take this kind of state line out of the starting PG every night.

Steve Pledger vs Coppin State
13 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 turnover

Definetely a good stat line. The biggest thing is he's not selfish. No disrespect to the pgs last year, but they were looking to increase their box score.

The other thing that plays a factor in Pledger at the point is he stretches the defense at the top of the key. If you're making the defender defend you 35 feet away from the basket, you create an area where a high post guy like Thompson can work and get mid range looks and nice dump down passing angles to :fitz80s:

He started the game doing all the scoring, and at first I was a little disappointed that he didnt end up with 20 after scoring 11 points in the first 5 minutes or so of the game.

But, if he is really gonna be the PG that wont be his role. 6 assists is probably a career high for him and if he can do that against quality teams I think OU will be just fine with him at PG.

We will know a lot more when teams play more aggressive man defense and pick us up with full court pressure.

i wouldn't be suprised if we use Nick to bring the ball up if teams go full court man to man ... not many 4's are going to be able to pressure him much one on one
