Are presumably two of our better players and combined they played 52 minutes against UVA with the following results:

Pledger & Clark's combined output
5 points
3 rebounds
1 assist
0 steals
1 block (nice hustle Cam)
3 turnovers

This is simply astonishing.

It was a bad night for everbody not named cade or tyler

Cade played hard too, but nobody really showed up outside of those two. Fitz showed up early then disappeared after foul trouble.

The game seems a bit too fast and physical right now for Cam, Capel needs to do a better job at trying to get him integrated into the game and to get scoring chances. I know coming in late hurt him a lot in terms of getting adjusted to college bball but later on during the season we're going to need Cam to really step up and be a double digit scorer.

This kid has a ton of talent, he needs to build some confidence so we can start seeing that talent show itself. The problem is we need to start that process now and not once conference play begins.

Cam has the ability to take his man off the dribble and create scoring chances, who else on our roster has that ability right now ? It would free up Pledger specifically. It seemed every 3 pointer we took our guy had a hand in his face.

I agree but Capel has to allow Cam to play his game Cam best highschool games is when he played the 1 and 2 position.Cline knows Cam,game not Capel.Cline recruited Cam and Taylor not Capel.

Chico I wanna see it. Trust me I believe that Chico got game and then some.....

Let's unleash the beast and see what Cam can do with the ball in his hands. You're playing against a kid's strengths by making him play off the ball the whole time during the game. And people wonder why he's so passive ? It's because he wasn't asked to play like that before and isn't used to doing it.

I see people asking for a JUCO scoring guard next year and that Cade shouldn't be your high scorer on a good team. Well Cam can be that guy and I wanna see him given the opportunity to do so.

Cam is not playing the PG in college, he should get ample amount of face up time at the 3. Capel is letting ease into D1 basketballs, which is fine, but at some point he is going to have to force Cam to make some plays, i.e. put him in a position where he has to be aggressive.

the 2 and 3 in college are interchangeable on offense...so i'm not taking that for an excuse for Cam...

he just isnt playing aggressive, period...

Whatever his game is, he needs to show it because he hasnt as of yet...

this offense is perfect for guys that like to slash and shoot midrange shots, which i was told is Cam's strengths...lets see it...

Don't want to pile on Clark, but right now it goes beyond the offense. He has grabbed a total of 11 rebounds the past four games. I know he is a freshman getting acclimated to a quicker pace, but that is inexcusable for someone with his physical attributes.

A spot-on post, Edmond! Cam needs to take advantage of the opportunities he's getting and play within the offense. That's what good players do.

I think Capel recognizes that Cam may need more time to adjust to the speed and physicality of the game, and that's why he's not pushing him to perform at a high level right now. If so, maybe it's time to abandon that strategy and put his star freshman recruit to the test. But Cam will have to use his 29 mpg average (fourth best on the team) to prove himself from the two or the three spot. He is not a point guard.
