to win and compete for Big 12 title. This is all on Lon and coaching staff.

Only KU and Texas have more talent than OU.

I miss Sampson.

Sampson team bigs alway played hard and aggressive. Lattin doesn't have great foot walk, also he is not aggressive and can't jump worth a lick. Jamuni at least hustled and can score at the basket. Opponent guards just drive to the basket at will whenever Lattin was in the game. I think Lon should start Jamuni McNeace, McGusty, James, Doolittle, Trae the rest of the remaining games. Lattin is not going to buy us anything for next year. Jamuni showed he hustled and is more capable than Lattin. Manek is not strong enough to play the 4 at the moment.

I think there is enough talent to do more than we are.

But it appears the media knew our talent a lot better than we did. didn't they predict us to finish 6th?

Outside of Trae Young, I feel like we have 3 guys that are Big 12 talented, McNeace, McGusty, and Christian James. After last year I thought Doolittle would be our second best player this year, but it looks like he's been replaced by the pod people in Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Manek is Big XII talented, he's just hit the worst freshman wall I've ever seen. You're right about the rest of the roster though. Fringe guys at best.

I don't buy into being plenty of talent on this team. I do believe there is more talent than the record shows at this time. Some may be correct about Lon doing what ever it took to get TY here. Remember TY dad did not want his son here and about a month ago he still says the same thing. I think having new coaches, avg overall talent, teams figuring out TY is the reasons OU is where it is now.

I just don't know if there is much talent on this team or not (outside of Trae). We do have guys that can contribute (James, McGusty, McNease and maybe Odomes) and Manek is young. Yet I'm not sure how much actual basketball talent is there. And outside of those five guys, we have a cavernous dropoff in ability and skill. Furthermore, the problem recently is that all of these guys do not play well as a team and/or are not developing into the caliber of players we thought they would be at this point in time.

Maybe our expectations were too high to begin with?....or maybe we just need to recruit better players who can realize their potential? Or maybe we need an upgrade in head coach or staff that will more effectively help the players maximize their "supposed" potential? Lots of questions.

Too many one dimensional players. James is the best 2 way player on the team as of now. No one else plays well on both ends. Even offensively everyone but Trae is one dimensional.

No. Not to win a title.

But the talent level is pretty solid. Lots of good players. I think we’ve slightly underperformed (looking at entire 16-11).

I think Young is a little overrated. His defense kills him.

This is laughable. The next time CJ blocks out this year will be the first time he has blocked out all year. He as given up at least a dozen rebound dunks this year. Also I believe #15 from West Virginia hasn't had 5 uncontested three's all Big 12 season except the first 5 minutes he was being guarded by CJ when WVU built a 13 pt lead at OU. Last night CJ goes 0-4 in the first two minutes of the game and KU is getting wide open looks and goes up 10-0.

McGusty is multi dimensional offensively.

McGusty is a ball stopper on Offense. Worked last night when TY couldn't get anything going. Hasn't worked at any other point this year. Worked on last years team when their wasn't a TY or Manek. Might have to work next year without a PG

James is one of the worst players on defense

The wings have to constantly stop ball penetration bc Young gives no resistance, so yeah they are going to give up 3s. Also I never said he was a lockdown defender like Odomes, but he's still OU's best 2 way player.

Young s defense rarely has an effect on why the other players arent guarding the 3 close enough
