If you had to pick a point guard out of the following who would choose: Carl Blair, Omar Leary, Chris Walker, or Alex Spaulding?

Since Blair is the only one that can rack up the assist and can actually put up some points, and he's only a sophmore...hmmmm tough choice

Spaulding was more of a two guard. Given a choice between the other three, I would take Blair for his passing and court vision, and hope he could learn to play defense.

As Ada said Spaulding was a 2 and of the remaining 3, I actually thought Leary had a smooth stroke from behind the arc. I'd probably take him or Blair but not Walker. That dude is the worst PG I've ever seen at OU.

The only reason I took Blair over Leary is that he has two more years to play after this season. He also has better passing skills than Omar. Omar was a better defender. But I'm hoping Carl will work on that part of his game and come back with cat-quick feet next season. Nothing wrong with dreaming, is there? ;)

1. Blair - people who rip him now may look stupid in a year or two
2. Leary - decent 3-point shooter, below average athlete
3. Walker - horrible
4. Spaulding - he didn't play PG

Right now Blair has a 1.5 assist to turnover ratio. He really needs to take better care of the ball. If he improves on that in the next year or two he will be a very solid point guard

I can't believe this is even a question. Blair is hands down the better PG. Leary, Walker and Spaulding had a better support cast.

This! Carl Blair is a sophomore, for Pete's sake. He's already hands-down better that any of the other guys listed. Are there deficiences in his game? Absolutely. But he's already a skilled passer who can find the open man and get him the ball. He's also shown he can drive – and finish – which is more than you can say for any of the other PGs mentioned.

I'm excited about this kid and believe he will only get better. And capelfan is right: Blair Jr. will likely make some of our resident basketball gurus look pretty silly.

Blair...and it's not even a debate. Appreciate what Leary did, but the only reason he was a JUCO AA is because his team made it to Hutch. Walker....enough said.

As has been said Spaulding wasn't a point guard but he still did more than Walker did at OU. In case you guys have forgotten once upon a time Alex Spaudling actually hit some BIG shots in an NCAA tournament game.

Oh and once I saw Alex Spaulding filling out a job application at the Taco Bueno on 12th Ave SE in Norman. 100% true story.

Leary was light years better than Blair on the defensive end and he had a sweet stroke from behind the arc. I don't think either of them is a whole lot better than the other because both had/have deficiencies, but they were/are definitely better than Walker.

Initially i thought about Leary, but to be honest he was perfect for the role he had...a spot action guy that could come in, knock down a shot and play some solid defense...but even then, his defense was in spots so i'm not sure if he played starters minutes he would have been anymore of a better defender than Blair with his size, and he wasnt much quicker if any...

I think i would take Blair who has 2 more years and probably a better distributer...He seems to be a little better at gettin to the hole too, even though it is not impressive...

Blair has two more years, so he stands a very good chance of getting a lot better before his career is over.
