Porter MF Moser!!

I wonder who holds the distinction of being the coach with the highest salary to never make the tournament at a given school. I bet our boy is in the running, if not in the lead. Hell, most power conference schools don’t have four year droughts, so that in and of itself puts him on the leaderboard.

According to this list (which is a little old), the only coach who makes more money than Porter who has not made the tourney at his school is Mike White at Georgia.

Man, anyone named Mike White is obviously a loser

I almost look at it the other way … the buyout number is so high, they may be releasing the info as a way to prepare people for the bad news that he isn’t going anywhere. I really hope I’m wrong.
In all likelihood, unless Moser chooses not to work for 2-3 years, OU would only pay a fraction of the $7 million buyout.

Thanks! And he obviously hasn’t been there as long, and may make it this year if they finish strong.

And, it's spread out over the next three years.

With basketball ticket revenue down $2M this past year, they can't afford not to get rid of him.

Plus, we get a full share of SEC revenue starting next school year. That's a bump of $20-25M.

How come not many people are talking about Otzelberger at ISU? Is he not someone we could swipe? Can't imagine they have better resources than us...

he was just extended to 2032 and he is at a place where fans care about basketball

I like Hoiberg from Nebraska
Nebraska has what we don't: a newer arena and better fan support. Not sure about their NIL situation. They've built two arenas since LNC was built.

If I remember correctly, they're the only Power school to never win an NCAA tournament game. It's a tough gig. But their fan base will support anything with a big red N on it.

It is pretty crazy that Nebraska never won an NCAA tournament game

They have only been 8 times in their history. Their first appearance wasn't until 1986. They were just above Colorado as doormats of the old Big 8.

I don't think Fred would come to OU, though. With that lack of history at Nebraska comes a low bar for success. The bar is higher at OU and the tools for success are lower.

I’m not a subscriber so can’t read it, but looks like Moser is even losing Lusk, based on the column he has up. He’s been a big sunshine pumper, so it says a lot that he is close to jumping ship.

Nobody can defend it anymore. I completely understand people wanted Moser to succeed. He seems like a super likable dude and recruited well. It wasn’t out of the realm of possibility that he would succeed at OU. But now…it’s so painfully obvious that he is not the guy.
