If OU had the right people in the AD and coaching staff and made the decision at every level to compete for championships in basketball, we could do it. Unfortunately, none of that is true. Basketball is treated like an afterthought and the results speak for themselves.

The times have changed with NIL and portal. You can’t just say “we’re OU” anymore even when recruiting against lower level teams. You have to invest the resources at every level.

They have way better fans, but I’m skeptical they have huge NIL. They get very few big name transfers. He is the antithesis of Moser. He is great at targeting guys who fit his system, and most of them come from smaller schools and with little fanfare. Then he gets them to play extremely hard, and play well together.

I think everyone was surprised how much more the buyout was than everyone thought.. my guy thought it was 4-5 million. With the higher number, I'd put the odds of firing pm, without pm negotiating it down in good faith, at like 15% imo. When/if we lose out, I think that number grows to 33%, at best imo

I would be absolutely ecstatic if they kicked those tires. However, Joe C will prob just extend moser so I am not going hold my breath.

If they can get PM's buyout arranged, then I'd kick the tires on Chris Mack. Proven track record, and his Louisville tenure wasn't the best.. don't know the full details of him and Dino Gaudio. Took a 2 year break and has Charleston at 20-7 in his first season back.
