Just for the sake of discussion, how important is it that the Sooners have some sort of "depth chart" for the post guys coming off the bench? As it stands right now we don't know if Kruger is going to play CJ, Honore, or Arent. There are games that all three of those guys play. There are games in which only one of them plays.

Is it a matchup thing? Practice performance thing?

I personally don't have a problem with it as it forces all three of those guys to have to be ready to play and be the first big off the bench for Fitz. I would however not be disappointed if one of those three earned the backup center position (CJ seems to be getting most of his minutes at the 4).

Right now its Osby and Fitz with Neal coming in for Osby first and then either Honore (last two games) or Arent (most of the season) coming in for Fitz.

My first choice would be for Arent to distinguish himself as the go to guy. The only reason I say this is because he will be back next year and it would mean OU has a pretty respectable four man (or five with Henry) post man rotation for next season.

My second choice would be for any one of the three to distinguish themselves as the go to guy. The reason I want to see this is it likely means one of the guys is giving consitent minutes.

Ultimately I don't think it matters all that much and quality post depth is probably going to be an issue all year.

It's really hard to say if our post rotation is tied to performance in practice, match ups or LK's feel for what will work best from one game to the next? It seems to change with every game. I've also noticed that he doesn't hesitate to sub a player in early if he sees something he doesn't like. Even if his reasons are not always clear to me, he seems to be making a lot of the right calls.

I would like to see C. J. get more playing time, though. He has performed well in limited minutes this season.

I think there just isn't much difference between those 3 backup guys. If there were, I'm sure Kruger would play one more than the others. They are all hard-working players who can make some hustle plays off the bench etc, but not superstars. At the moment, I think he probably likes the blocked shots we've gotten from Honore, and is seeing if he can give us more of a post defensive presence. One or two extra blocks can make a big difference. I'm sure a lot of us have wondered who is going to guard some of the talented bigs we will see in Big 12 play.

Given the fact that none of them are really talented enough to be the first big off the bench for a program like OU, I say play the hot hand, and the match ups. And I think that is what LK has been doing the last couple of games. Arent has the size to add something the others can't, but until he can put it to use, it doesn't help much.

Agree with you about Arent, WT. The kid seems to be a high energy player and he sure doesn't mind mixing it up with the opposing post players when it comes to rebounding. But the poor guy just can't seem to put the ball back up and in when he pulls down an offensive board. If he could learn how to finish around the basket, I think he would have a chance to become our most valuable post player off the bench.

Barry is going to get the min first IF it is a guy that he can guard ...

he is a very very good post and help defender as long as the guy can't out quick him ..

The post rotation was out in full force last night with all three guys sharing equal minutes.
