I think it's a given that Sims is the POY in the Big 12. Is she also your pick for national POY?
We're not talking about turnovers were talking about player of the year. How can you possible vote for her with the way you all attack our players for turnovers!!!! She had 10 turnovers today and the last one cost them the game. Do I smell...Hypocrites!!!

I look at it like this without Stewart UConn still is undefeated. Without McBride ND may not be undefeated but they still a top 10 team. Without Ogwumike Stanford still wins the PAC 12 and still a top 25 team. Without Sims Baylor struggles to make The tournament.
POY is NOT the best player on the best team it's the player who is the most valuable to their team success no question that is Sims.
Well we talking about THIS years player of the year NOT last year or the years before. If you follow that logic, does Sims lose because she had the best assemblage of talent for three years and lost two?

I hate Mulkey and Baylor just as much as anyone with that being said my vote goes to Sims. I respectfully disagree I think Sims is the best payer I seen this year. Call me crazy but I think that Diamond kid of North Carolina will the best player in the country in a few years.National POY - Stewart. She's the best player I've seen this year regardless of the team. That's what I believe that's what the award is for. Player of the year(best) and not MVP to their team. By that reasoning a player averaging 15 ppg on a 14-14 team should win because otherwise the team would have been 7-21.
Actually syb's post prove my point that Sims should be POY.Don't confuse him with the facts.

I am a Baylor fan because I said Sims Should be POY LOL. Maybe you should read my posts about Mulkey (which BTW you spelled wrong spell my coach name right). Yes Sims had bad game turnover wise but our players always have bad games turnover wise. Even Drob sometimes had high turnovers games but her and Sims don't have high turnovers games over and over and over and over again like our team does(oops I forget I'am a Baylor fan like your team does).Really....you seem to bring them in every conversation about our players! Guess you are a Baylor fan. Agree with OU81, many of you are hypocrites and can't even support our players and team but would rather attack them. Can't imagine what you would say if one of our players had 10 turnovers. Get you a Mulky head and green shirt and turn in colors.
Stewart gets my vote, though Sims is a good choice.
Whether Sims is the best or not Sims is someone that you must account for the entire game. She kill you in so many different ways.
I began by saying that I would rather wait until after the tournament, and I will stand by that.
Let's deal with Sims. After the FIBA games, I thought she might be the best "amateur" in the world. But, I have seen some things this year that cause me to question that. First, I think Sims gets too much help from Big Twelve officials. Secondly, I'm not exactly sure what Baylor has. Baylor has not won a game against a major non-conference opponent, losing at home to Kentucky (in Arlington) and Connecticut. Their road loss to Kansas is a worse loss (rpi) than any that OU has had this year. How good are they? I'm not sure that Sims has elevated them that much, and I wonder if Baylor can win on the road in the NCAA. She is good. The question is whether she is the best. I question her ability to function as a star at the next level since I don't think they'll put up with some of it, and I don't think she'll get the calls.
I think Stewart brings something that Sims doesn't. Stewart didn't really develop until about NCAA time last year. Notre Dame had beaten UConn three times, once rather soundly. Once Stewart developed, it seemed that nobody was even close to UConn, even Notre Dame. She is, for now, a problem to defend. Do you use a big girl? She'll drive around her. Do you go small? She will leap over her. What position does she play? She can be a center, forward, or even a shooting guard. She does things that nobody has found a way to stop.
I think there are guards that can guard Sims. I'm not sure who guards Stewart right now, and she has UConn playing at a much higher level than any other team. Remember that this is a team without depth.
I haven't seen enough of some to include them in the conversation. That's where the tournament comes into play---that, and I want to see if Baylor can win outside the conference against a good team.
