I do find it odd that he was on the bench though. I know he is going through a lot but I would think if you are going to be on the bench you might as well play

Losing your grandmother is never easy. My prayers are with you, Cade!

I'm wondering if he didn't find out right before the game. It appeared to be a late switch. The tv and radio broadcasts had him starting and then the beat writers tweeted about it about 5 minutes before tip. He probably was not in the right frame of mind to play basketball. Just guessing, anyway.

This may be the case. I heard nothing all day out here in Elk City. Maybe Shooter heard something.

Capel said they found out about 2 hours before the game. Prior to the game Jeff said Cade would still play, but come game time Cade told Capel he was not emotionally ready to play. My condolences to the Davis family.

OUr families as well. Losing a grandparent is always a tough one.

Certainly nobody can fault him for that. I don't think anyone can know what they would do in that situation unless they actually experience it. Additionally, everyone is likely to have a different reaction and none of them are right or wrong.

I wish Cade the very best through this difficult time. He is absolutely my favorite player on this team. You can't go wrong with guys like Cade Davis on your side.

My prayers are with Cade and his family.

I remember I lost my grandmother when I was in my 30's. I got a call from my Dad in the morning when I was at my office and had to finish the day because something was going on which could not be put off. To say the least, I just kind of went through the motions. Got what I had to get done, done. But my mind was elsewhere. Cade used good judgment to sit out the game in my opinion.

He probably found out after he got to Waco and his family saw no need for spending extra money for him to rush home.

Remember when Cade was so sick and played anyway? He probably wants wins more than anyone else on this team. If he felt he wasn't able to play, he wasn't able to play.

Cade's Grandmother was one of the nicest people I've ever known. Just a truly classy, smart, nice woman. She was very proud of Cade and his brother, Will and followed their sports endeavors with great enthusiasm. I know that Cade and Will were very close to her and it doesn't surprise me at all that it affected Cade the way it did.
