We need a Jordon Woodard, Jan Pannell type point guard.
Do you not remember 2016/2017 when Jordan Woodard ran the point? We don't need that again. Jordan was a great Sooner just wasn't a great PG.

He was also hurt almost all year.
I will enjoy next season just fine watching the team get better thru the year.
Doesn't take away from the fact he was a much better SG than a PG.
Hopefully that happens because it hasn't happened the previous two years IMO.
you're exactly right. thats why this season seemed so sad. for me at least. I like improvement. thats my gauge.
We haven’t improved in 2 years since the new assistants took over. Jamuni and James (to a lesser degree) are the only players who have improved individually and the rest have probably regressed. It is a disturbing trend.

This year's team won 7 more games than last year's and made the NCAA tournament. That's the definition of improvement.
In November 2016, I went to Orlando to watch OU in their early season tourney. The field was not strong, to say the least, based on how those teams ended up doing that season. But, 6 of the 8 teams made the tourney this season -- OU, Arizona State, Mizzou, Xavier, Davidson, and Clemson. Xavier was the only team to make it last season. That shows that significant improvement can, and does, happen from one season to the next, even for teams that don't bring in an All American newcomer like Trae. I agree with those of you who think a lot of our returning players didn't show much, if any, improvement this season. But that doesn't mean that it won't happen moving forward. Kam and Doo didn't lose the talent they had as freshman, and I am confident they will both be better next year. Muni has improved each season and should continue to do so. With increased playing time, Shep should be better. I think Polla will be better than most people seem to expect. Add in a talented new freshman and likely a grad transfer or two, and I don't think we are looking at anything close to 11-20. Whether we will be a tournament team remains to be seen, but I just don't anticipate the disaster that so many of you do.
I also think that this season likely will cause Lon to focus much more attention on the defensive end. Same thing happened a few years ago -- the 2014 team was great on offense but very poor defensively. They emphasized that over the offseason, and the following year played much better D, which was a big part of why they were a high seed in the Sweet 16 run.
But this assumes we are going to get a grad transfer or two. We have consistently struck out with those.

Woodard was a good PG
‘17 wasn’t on him

All because of Trae Young. If you look at individual player development it hasn't been there outside of Jamuni and CJ to a certain extent.
