TheShiver.com is reporting that Julius Randle is visiting Kansas University for it's Midnight Madness event.

Personally I take it as a good thing that a school gets the first unofficial, regardless is Florida State was a hot ticket or not.
DM, if you're referring to Julius' visit to Norman last weekend as his first unofficial, unfortunately it was not. He's been to both Kentucky and UNC last year. Though I don't think any of that means a whole heck of a lot because a student has to pay his own way.
Oftentimes there are circumstances (outside of basketball) that dictate where they go, and the order in which they go. I know another 2013 who visited a Conference USA school as his first unofficial this summer because his family was on campus because his sister was committing to play volleyball there.
In Julius' case, I'd say the most telling signs of who's in the lead at this early stage are the coaches he most often speaks with. I know OU, Duke, Carolina, Kansas, and Texas have visited his campus and/or spoken to him recently and regularly.
I'm talking about as oppose to Kansas. Kansas already has a friend and teammate.
He's going to Late Night for Kansas. If I'm a recruit I don't go to a KU football game and OU for Midnight Madness. I choose the route Randle took. He's a soph looking to have a good time. It's waaaay to early to tell anything in this recruitment.
That's my point. But as a coach would you rather talk to a kid on your campus first or second?
I'd rather have a kid visit during the best time to sell my University. I don't think being first, second or last really has that big an influence. Some people talk about the last visit being the best. Personally, I don't think it matters as long as it's a great weekend.
For OU that's a football game. I think Capel maximized the visit by bringing him in against a great opponent in Florida St.
Late Night at KUhas kinda been anyway. Barnes, Lamb, Xavier Henry, Bradley Beal, and a host of other guys have been to latenight and it didn't affect their decisions. We'll see with Randle and Nash.
visit order might mean something for a 2011 recruit. don't think it does for a 2013.
it's just great that he came in and enjoyed it.
Capel visited Randle this morning.
Yep. I believe Capel or someone else is in Wichita tonight to see Perry Ellis.
KU wasn't at the gym when the other coaches were there. I wonder why?
Tuesday night Self had an in-home visit with LeBryan Nash.
Wednesday afternoon he was in checking out Zach Peters and Julius Randle.
Perry Ellis is having another open gym this coming Wednesday in which KU will be at along with UNC, Memphis, Kentucky, Georgetown and some others.
Perry ended up not playing last night....had something wrong with his legs.....sore or something.
