How was the pep band?

They were okay, I really did not pay a lot of attention, but that is good. They didn't suck and they performed well.

Apparently, the memebers of the men's and women's pep bands weren't allowed to have music stands or the lyre attachments on their instruments on Saturday. This left them with no alternative other than putting their music on the floor. :facepalm

Pansies. I had the entire music folder memorized by season 3, despite switching parts thrice.

I sympathize with the music on the floor thing, though. Where are you supposed to stomp your feet during taunt/chants? Surely not Joe C's precious red carpet wall

I've been trying to stay neutral on the whole Pride issue, but no more. This is just freakin' ridiculous! The Sooner Showmen have always been more like a Jazz Band than a marching band, thus the use of stands rather than lyres. I guess that's going to change and not for the better....and to show up in public reading music off the floor is amateur hour for sure. Oh, for the days when Roland Barrett ran the Showmen!

I do not know about in person but on TV they looked and sounded terrible. I was at the first two football games and thought they looked and sounded like a HS band. It is a shame because they have always IMHO been good. Unfortunately Boren is as arrogant as Stoops.

I tried to listen and watch for band last night. They had music stands, even if they were the see-through fold-up type.
