For those that asked last week....

We have played three games now....we are 0-3.....blew a 12 point second half lead last Tuesday and lost. Just got too sloppy with the ball late. When you take over a team that was 0-28 the previous season and you try to teach them how to win...and do it with a LOT of freshmen you are going to struggle through these growing pains unfortunately.

Last night we went down fighting.....down 15 points, we came back to tie it 61-61 and the other team went on a 21-9 run. Offensive rebounds were, once again, our achilles heel. Unitl we get some size we are going to continually struggle in this department. We have been working on rebounding drill after rebounding drill to try to get better at it but our size kills us down low.

Led by 3 freshmen again....11, 11 and 16 points.

We did have 5 guys in double figures.

We are CLOSE in games.....have chances.....just need to rebound better and take care of the ball a little better and we are in business.

I need to find some size SOMEWHERE in the off-season. I'm recruiting a lot of it but we have to close on some kids.

We play a DII team Friday night at home and go on the road Sunday to a DI (NC Central) and get a chance to see RAY WILLIS up close and personal. LOL

We are getting soooo close....we just have to find a way to get more boards.

Have you tried Sampson's technique of tying something over the basket so nothing goes thru?

Ah, the old "bubble drill." I remember lots of discussions about that back in the day. :)

NCSooner, despite your 0-3 start, you have to be pleased that your kids have continued to battle and that the future appears to be bright with three freshmen leading the way in scoring. Something tells me you could be really close to a run on W's when your young team finally breaks that losing streak.

Hang in there, it will come in time. Keep us posted and best of luck in your next game!
