I know TCU has been dominated in terms of win/loss in the Big 12 (what's their record, Abd?)

But if you look closely at how their home games have been this year, the Sooners did very well today.

Any win on the road in the Big 12 is a good win. TCU is a dangerous team at home. Ask ISU.

A road win by double figures?...I will never complain about that

FYI: TCU is 3-43 since entering the big Xii in conference play

I thought our 10-0 run in the final three minutes of the first half was huge. To be trailing by seven late in the half and turn that into a three-point lead entering intermission gave ur guys a big lift, I think.

Very good win - tcu isn't an easy team to play against. Hopefully this team is taking that step forward cause today was a veteran win.

Great win. I watched TCU play Kansas tough. KU even had a sizable lead heading into the last four minutes, and the game could have gone into overtime. I was scared of this one. Just win, baby!

I agree that any road win is good but "really good" at TCU on basically a neutral court is a little too much for me.

Won by 12. Did it with defense and power basketball. Look at their home loses and margins...

Absolutely. And then to come out in the second half and immediately extend it was key. I don't think they ever got closer than six after that.

It's the same place all the other Big 12 teams played them (in road games, that is), and only one other team had beaten them by double digits. KU won by three and Baylor needed overtime to beat them in that same arena, so I'll take our 12-point win and be quite happy with it.

What's more, at least a dozen posters over the past few days expressed concern about today's game. The fear was that it would be a trap game, that our guys would suffer a letdown, that they'd perhaps be distracted by our big game on Monday against the Cyclones of Iowa State.

And the original poster in this thread didn't rate the win as this season's highlight or anything like that. He merely described it as "really good" and stated that our Sooners did "very well."

I'd say, given the factors I've cited, BigTime was neither overstating nor exaggerating.

This game could have been a "trap game" after beating OSU in Stillwater and the payback to WVU ….. and ISU coming on Monday night. Glad we kept our focus. Good job.

I was one of the people who expressed concern. It was not because I thought TCU was anywhere close to use in ability, however. My concern was about our own mistakes. We made a lot early but were better late in the first and in the second. I agree that any road win is good and said so. However, at TCU this year is probably the easiest road game out there. Yes, they have played teams close but they do not have the talent to finish the job. It is as close as you'll get to a neutral court game. It would have been a bad loss.

If I looked at the score alone I could say it was a really good win. However, I watched the game. We gave up 21 offensive rebounds and had 17 turnovers against a non-pressure defense. They missed a lot of chip shots although I agree that we did contribute to that with inside intimidation.

Good win but not great.

It would have been a bad loss.

Yes, but we didn't even come close to losing.

You go on ahead and focus on the negatives; I'll be over here celebrating a win in a game many people, including you, were fretting over.

No one's claiming that yesterday's win was some sort of monumental achievement, but many feared it would be a trap game the Sooners could lose. It proved not to be, and in fact the Sooners handed TCU its second-worst home loss of the season. That's reason enough to celebrate, as I see it.

I kind of figure sports are supposed to be fun; it surprises me how many fans seem to miss that part of the experience. But hey, different strokes and all that.

How true. It is amazing how much more pain is expressed after a loss, compared to the joy expressed after a victory. I admit that I have this same trait, sometimes.

Interesting that you think because I say it was only a good win I am focusing on negatives. Sorry, I will occasionally let my observations get in the way of my cheer leading. Yes, different strokes and all that. I can promise you that I love the Sooners as much as you do.
