Reaves going pro

Best of luck to him, likely some time in the G league and a chance for more.

He has a much better chance than Davion being drafted

Good for him! By all accounts he seems to be a 2nd round pick.

Good luck to Austin. Hopefully, he can get into predraft workouts and camps and show his outside shot is solid.

As a Sixers fan, AR reminds me a lot of Shake Milton when he came out of SMU, without the ridiculous wingspan. Very similar stats in college and same height but Shake had a better 3PT%. Shake was a late second-round draft pick, bounced up and down to the G-League, and made the roster at the end of his first season as like a 9th or 10th guy off the bench. He is now the Sixers' 6th man and runs point on the second unit.

Maybe AR can have a similar path.

I certainly wish Austin all good luck. He was great fun to watch in crimson and cream.

best of luck! hope he gets a multi year contract one day.

This might have been buried in another thread, but I'm still shocked that a week ago he was ready to transfer to Arkansas. Lose him anyways, but it would have been a blow for him to stay in college but not be at OU.

Who mentioned he was willing to transfer to Ark?

Bob Pryzbylo said he was dead set on transferring to Arky this time last week.

He seems to have really liked Coach Kruger, so perhaps it was just a reaction to news of his retirement. It's possible the new coach could have swayed him to stay. But yeah, much easier to handle him going pro than transferring to another program. That would have been tough to take.

But in one of my early posts following Lon's announcement, I warned that we were at risk of a slide, and this is the kind of thing I was referring to. We've lost Harmon (for now, at least), we've lost Austin (though there was no assurance he was returning), and who knows who else might move on when we have our new coach. We've got to hang on to Cortes and, especially, Noland, and it would be great to have Williams and Manek back too.

Harmon was a complete shock, and I love Cortes & Noland. However, with the transfer portal being the way it is & with transfers being immediately eligible it is much easier to handle a complete overhaul of a roster in year 1 of a coaching change.

Sounds like some of the guys wanting out of Norman, guys got to do what they think is best for them.
