OU +13 tonight: 35 rebounds to 22. We were 7th in the nation coming in with a +9.8 margin on the season. Arkansas is a big team...

how is this happening?

Fundamentals and commitment. They get good position and they commit more players to the boards.

That's an amazing stat when you think about where this team was early in the season. Concerns about rebounding was a major topic of discussion back then.

Who would have thought that OU would be in the plus category against most of the teams we've played so far? I sure didn't. Likewise, who could possibly have guessed that Andrew Fitzgerald, a player who couldn't snag a rebound to save his life a short time ago, would lead the team in rebounding in any game this season?

Proves what hard work and good coaching can do. I couldn't be more proud of how far this team has come in the past few games!

After Capel left, I wondered if the issue was poor coaching, lack of talent, or uncoachable players. Our rebounding improvement has really proved that this group of players can respond to good coaching. Kruger said he would stress rebounding and so far they have responded in a big way. It is just so easy to like this group of players. They hustle and improve every game. That is the biggest expectation I have for our team and I'm pleased that not only have I not been let down, but the wins are matching their effort.

Apparently good coaching.

The kids are not going to get to play if they don't do things Kruger's way. I am positive he makes that clear to them and they understand it isn't a threat. Capel did not hold people accountable. He simply had Blake Griffin on his team so he posted one respectable year and one really good year. Other than that, the guy was a fool.

Offense brings in crowds
Defense wins games
Rebounds wins championships
