Recruiting Class 2015

I'm not surprised Camara has an offer from OU because of what was reported several days ago. The best part in her profile is, "she is very physical". We desperately need some toughness. We often play too soft and don't really have an enforcer. No one is intimidated by our finesse game. We need some Caton Hill and Leah Rush players to dish it out. While I don't really like our chances recruiting against the likes of those good teams on the east coast, this tells me that Sherri sees the need to get tougher and more physical.

I happy to see an elite post looking at OU, she also sounds like a vocal leader, something this team could use.

Norm,
Seriously that's damn annoying.
Exactly the kind of player OU needs and final 3 have no women's bball pedigree worth mentioning at all.

mac,
to be clear OU has offered Camara.
i've yet to see anything in print indicating OU is in her top five.

Yep! I thought we might have a shot with her but obviously we came up short.

huskershoopcentral has a list of recruits. It said OU offered Lanie Page(6-2). It also siad Moore had offers from S Carolina, Texas, and Iowa St. It doesn't look like OU offered Moore.

May mean a lot or may mean nothing....Gabby Ortiz and Meredith Burkhall recently started following each other on twitter.

I will be very surprised if Lanie signs with any team other than Nebraska.

Wow they will run the PAC 12 for years to come, and she will fit a need, the post from 2014 is more of a 4 and Ashley can play the 5.

Karen Aston is doing a great job at Texas also, Norm.

Absolutely!!! Aston, Close, and Dawn Staley have all done great jobs recruiting. I really think UCONN, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Tenn are going to see some strong competition in the next 2-4 years. I believe we are at the beginning of a new era in women's basketball. There are more really good players than ever before which gives more teams the opportunity to become elite teams by signing their share of the available great players.

We need more of those girls to be from Oklahoma or in the area...

Unfortunately, Oklahoma does not produce enough elite players. The good news is, Texas does. If we want to keep up with Texas (and the other teams mentioned), we have got to recruit other areas. I don't really care where we find elite players to sign but, IMO, it makes sense to spend 75% of our time recruiting Texas.

Is there any 2015 kids taking official visits this weekend? sounds like 6'6 Theresa Ekhelar is in North Carolina, not sure if she's on a visit or playing AAU.

Thats why, I wish W Hand Jones could be a coach at OU. She would be great in homes in Texas. Maybe a Grad assistant after Landry is done with football.

Norm,
not even getting looks from these top texas players.

not at all.

With our history of 3 final fours, our facilities, good school, good attendance, etc, we have plenty to offer. At some point Sherri has to ask herself if her assistants are elite recruiters. If the answer is no, she needs to take action.
