...how do you not start your seniors on Senior Night?!?

What an embarrassment, that is what makes college basketball so great. At your last home game, getting to walk out with your family and loved ones, having your jersey framed and being in the starting line-up even if you're the last man off the bench. How he cannot start someone like Matt Hill is beyond me, the guy gave your four years, busted his ass and you can't even let him go out for the tip.

Basketball gods saw this and punished Barnes accordingly.

That's a poor decision on Rick's part. I couldn't imagine my HS/college coach doing that.

Didn't get to see the game, that's bush league.

Texas' seniors: Lucas, Balbay, Johnson, Hill and Chapman.

You could easily have Johnson run the 3 for a few possessions until the first dead ball. Just shocked.

And Chapman is redshirting this year so it wasn't really his senior night.

Lucas and Balbay are not seniors(they will be back next season)...Johnson starts...and Chapman are redshirting. The only player that they might have started is Hill.

I don't think you are correct about Jucas and Balbay. They are both listed as seniors with 3 earned letters.

The commentators thought Lucas was a Senior. I heard them comment on it during the game.

Bottom line is if the kids participated in Senior Night activities they should have started the game.

Balbay lost his freshman year to an eligibility issue. Lucas transferred so late that he lost his sophomore year. I think he may have even played in Florida's exhibition games in what would have been his sophomore year. They are both seniors.

I thought they were and have always respected your opinion so I will go with they are both seniors.

Chapman is redshirting this year so Barnes can have the option of shunning him on Senior Night next year.

Balbay and Lucas are seniors...I know this for a fact.

I'm willing to go on a limb and almost guarantee that they will both be back next year as soon as the NCAA grants them another year. Balbay has only played 3 seasons and the same goes for Lucas. They didn't record a single game in their redshirt year.

Balbay's case is interesting because he was injured during his frehsmanp reseason, however, was cleared later in the year to play. At that point, he would of burned his redshirt, but he was suspended due to NCAA amateurism issues. NCAA may not take too kindly to that.

Fact is, how do you sit Matt Hill on Senior Night?

They were playing for a #1 seed. Even though they didn't really play him, that was a huge loss for them. They already loss 2 out of their last 3...so they needed to win and not worry about Hill's playing time. I'm sorry but the kid has played enough over the year that he can handle not starting that game.
