RIP Bobby Jack

Yeah, he played basketball at OU in the early 70's, but he may have been an even better baseball player. Back then freshmen couldn't play and it was rare for anyone to redshirt. I think he started all 3 years in basketball. John McLeod was the OU coach back then and they played in the OU Fieldhouse before Lloyd Noble was built. Some of his notable teammates included Gar Heard and Clifford Ray who both played many years in the NBA, but 2 guys in his his class were Scott Martin and Kirby Jones. He played his HS ball at Ponca City.

Ironically, my oldest son played for Ponca City and played against Bobby Jack's son who played for Jenks. I knew him but only casually.... basketball dads. He seemed like a very nice guy.
