I know tonight wasn't pretty, but Oregon in Portland and USC in the Staples Center, 2 miles from their campus, are a pair of great wins. Even if they don't count as true road wins.

Before tonight I would've been ecstatic with 1-1 in this two game stretch. But now that we've won the first, might as well make it 2-0 next Saturday over Wichita State!

Boomer! :woot: :OUbball-logo:

Like you said, even thought these don't count as true wins, they are weighted as "semi-road" wins on most advanced metrics.....which isn't a bad thing.:woot

counts as a win which is better than a loss

I'll be honest I am proud of the guys for getting this win. I didn't think they could do it, USC being preseason top 10 and all. Yes, their implosion late brings back unpleasant memories from last year, and yes the team as a whole and coaches need to develop some stones. But, a win is a win and the way they played throughout much of the game showed their potential. They need much more clutch... But i am proud of this win.

My thoughts exactly! When the season tipped off minus a starter from last year, a player who was one of our best rebounders and defenders, I would have been thrilled with a 7-1 record at this point of the season.

A win over two good teams in their own backyard was quite an accomplishment in my book. You’d better believe the majority of fans in Oregon and LA weren’t cheering for the Sooners. True road games or not, the NCAA selection committee will see these games as quality wins.

This game would have gone in the loss column last year. In fact, they would probably have lost the lead the first time USC made a run at them in the second half. They went on the road, had the lead the entire game and won. They are making progress and that's all you can reasonably ask for.

Spot on, MsP!

I think last year’s team would be 5-3 right now, with losses to Arkansas, Oregon and USC. This team is not a finished product. But we saw flashes of what they can be in last night’s game. I liked what I saw.
