A lot has been said about wanting to get a lot of guys in because this is a wasted season. But, I thought today was pefect. Keep the guys who can play and win basketball in the game and let the other guys stay on the bench like they probably will for the rest of their career. I think Neal might be the only guy who doesn't play who has a future playing. It's not like we're going to lose a lot of starters this season and those guys will have to play. Instead, they will be passed over by guys who are coming in.

Neal I would still like to see more of. Our starters played 189 of our 200 minutes. Probably won't be able to do that the rest of the year. Not that I'm complaining about a win.

I don't think we can just because of fouls, but I think every minute that the starters aren't playing is a minute that we're conceding victory. With the exception of Washington who I think brings something different to the game than the other five guys. Newell is an interesting guy, but I think we need a guy like Blair with our other four guys who can all score in their own ways.

Newell, Neal, and Washington should be playing at least 8-10 min a game. Fitz does not have the stamina to play 35+ minutes. Won't win many games with your bench scoring 2 points.

CJ and Neal can provide valuable minutes in the early stages of the second half if for no other reason than it allows the starters to be a little fresher in crunch time. The only thing that allowed Colorado to be in the game was that stretch in the middle minutes where our guys were completely gassed with no signs of help from the bench.

I thought the rotation was about right against a team like CU. Our four guards starting lineup was a good match up for a change.

I would have preferred to see Newell and C. J. get more minutes. But I understand why Capel didn't play Neal. Tyler would not have faired well against the Buff's quicker players. I like his upside. He's just got a long way to go on the defensive end.

They didn't look as tired playing as many minutes b/c they have been doing it all season. Its starting to pay off on the stamina increase for each player. And that will pay off for next season probably even more than getting the other guys more minutes. If CJ gets an offensive game next season...our bench will be huge for us.

don't sleep on his offensive game as it is. he's a little too undersized to be utilized in the post with his back to the basket game, but the kid can knock down the jumper. he nails them all the time in the pre-game layup/shooting line. he's just much more cautious about taking that shot, which he hit once earlier in the season, as opposed to another player who wasn't and now sits on the bench. and that steal out top late in the game that he made was huuuuge. just had to get that in there for my boy.

I was watching and wondering the same, i assume with the week off, Capel felt as if the the starters could take the extra minutes, due to the extra rest this week.

I hate to whine about anything after a win (especially this season since we get so few of them) but I think it is a huge mistake not to give Newell and Neal more minutes. We'll need them later in some games when fouls or exhaustion hit, not to mention they could both have solids futures here and need playing time to develop.

But, the way the last two years have gone, can't blame coach for doing whatever it takes to get a win. Good one today.
