Rotnei Clark asking for his release

all i've heard is that gonzaga doesnt have a scholly to give...??

So Rotnei would eat up 2 years of scholarship for 1 year of play, correct? Would KU even want to use a 2012 scholarship on him?

so are yall gonna welcome rotnei back home? that is, if he goes back. I do not care anymore...

gohogs- is Rotnei close to graduating? I have read Baylor and Gonzaga linked to him early since the story broke. If he graduates, he's able to play right away, correct? Like Knox and North Carolina last year who transferred from Alabama.

The toughest part of basketball is putting the ball in the basket. Rotnei can do that well. He's going to be an asset to the program that lands him.

I would think he would be a really good fit at Gonzaga or Baylor because both schools have athletes around him that would prevent defenses from focusing on him like they did at Arkansas last year.

He hasn't graduated yet, so yes he is going to have to sit out a year.

Wonder if one of the 'ships OU held onto this year could be for Rotnei? That would still leave us one to "give up" for sanctions.

The problem is that he has to sit out a year per transfer rules, so we are tying up a 2011 and 2012 scholarship for one year from a guy that can clearly shoot, but has a ton of baggage.

Arkansas has been irrelevant for 15+ years... seems like a lateral move to me

The only relevance you provided to us last year was whether or not Cade Davis' fauxhawk outweighed Rotnei's.

I would have no problem with him playing at OU for one year.

That is my thinking. Do we need him? Will he help us out much in the win column? I'm not sure. But he would free up another ship for 2013, which the staff might look at favorably. He also would be a senior at the same time as our best players, so 2012 could be a good year for the team. He also has a skill that our team is lacking, a pure shooter. If he doesn't mind not being "the man", I say bring him in.

I agree. There isn't much downside to having a guy around that is good at making baskets.

Nor do I. I think he would have been a Sooner three years ago if not for his highly publicized dispute with WW. Too bad, too, because we could have used his stroke from deep the past three seasons.

Better move on then.

In all seriousness, I believe he's wanting to go somewhere where he can play PG.

No doubt, Rotnei's gotta showcase those PG skills for NBA scouts. I mean, averaging 2 assists per game as your UA's lead guard really made them turn their heads.
