Rumor???

left alone for 6 hours...I doubt he was by himself for 6 hours.
2-3 days....Which was it....2 or 3 days????

These are statements that are stretching the truth. They didn't let him see a doctor, give me a break. 1st, they pay thousands of dollars to have professional trainers their and they can tell if a kid has a concussion. Trainers will advise these kids whether they need to go see a doctor. They monitor these kids. 2nd, If he wanted to go see a doctor, then he could drive himself or have someone take him to see a doctor. I've rolled my ankle in practice..trainer told me it was a sprain...drove myself to the doctor...doctor told me it was sprain.

That kid from T.T. that got leach fired. Being locked in a shed during practice. Lets just say that the kid was in the shed during practice. They make it sound like the kid was in the shed for hours upon hours. Just how long does a practice last???

I just think this is just a case where a kid wanted to transfer. the end..

Exactly

You can believe or not believe what you want to, but EVERYTHING I said was the complete story, with the exception of 1 part I think is a personal matter for the family.

I never said he was not allowed to go to the doctor for 2 - 3 days, what I said was he didn't go to the doctor for 2 - 3 days.

Him being left in his room alone, not even going to comment on that. But I will say that one of the coaches stated to me, "We didn't think it was as bad as it was."

Read the rules on what a red shirt player can and cannot do, and maybe you will answer your own discernment about that part.

Stretching the truth? LOL, what did I stretch? I stated that TJ had some wrong doings on his part. Did I blame anyone in that post? Or did I just try to dispell the rumor that he was kicked off because of character issues? It was grades? It was drug use? And all the other things that were being said. Fact is, TJ was frustrated about a lot of things. Were some of them petty, definitely! But at the end of the day, they were still things brought on by a concussion that went untreated for days.

If I recall correctly, the subsequent posts are the ones calling for Capels job and speaking down on the team and other organizations, not mine.

But I honestly hope that none of you have to go through the type of concussion this kid had. If you think damage to your brain can't sideline you for a while you are absolutely crazy! And if you think he is a quitter because he wanted to get better and not hurt the team while doing it, thats just as crazy. It is hard to make the unpopular decision, and I commend him for doing it.

The kid can play and he will bounce back. Either at OU or somewhere else, he will be a great addition to any team. Maybe he can go to UNT, from what I can remember they beat OU by 20 in the preseason scrimmage this year, LOL.

If you're a friend of TJ's, why would you tell his business. TJ seems to be a very private person, so I'm sure he wouldn't like certain things shared on a public forum.

Good luck to TJ wherever he ends end up playing at. I'm not going to bash an 18 year old kid that left for personal reasons. I'm sure he will end up on another team that I'll see playing and wish OU had him.

So, again, simply sounds like he wanted to transfer.

It sounds to me like Capel didn't do his job after the concussion and TJ wasn't feeling the love and so he left. This is not uncommon in college athletics as all athletes want to leave especially during a redshirt freshman year. Look at Landry Jones, Blake Bell, Billy Sims, etc., they all wanted to leave because redshirting and watching from the sideline is tough for a competitor. Capel obviously wasn't stroking the kid as he should have, didn't make him feel welcome and like OU really wanted him to stay, so he left.

Sounds to me like Capel has not only problems with getting to know his recruits during the recruiting process, but he also has a problem once they get on campus. Too much R&B singing and not enough coaching, encouragement, and direction.

I think Capel needs to stick to the lower tier recruits because those are the ones that he tends to keep on campus. Sadly, we can't win more than 10 games a year with this level of recruit especially with the coaching Capel provides.

This is a problem.

If Sigmund Freud were alive today, he could probably fill up several volumes just psychoanalyzing you, BOB. :ez-laugh:

Come on BOB. You are starting to find any and every thread that you can, and use it to go after Capel. I'm fine with your dislike of the current coach, heck we endured the Cletus vs Pumper foolishness on the other board, but the Capel lynch mob is becoming as bad or worse. Did you really gleen all of that about Capel, based on a post or 2 by an anonymous " friend", who knows so much about the situation that he chose to come on the board and NOT share anything solid?? Come on BOB, you are a better poster than that......

The number of family members of players and coaches on this message board drives me crazy.

I don't know where to start with this so I will just do this.
:facepalm
