anything from TMG to Clarkhttp://www.shaggybevo.com/board/showthread.php/60135-Tommy-Mason-Griffin-Left-OU?p=1625308&viewfull=1
The horns have enough of their own problems in basketball to worry about. Avery Bradley where are you? No pre-season tp 25 next year either. Enough about those Damien "the traitorless" Horns next year. We too have many problems to solve. Thanks for that depressing link. Good to see Pokes and Horns having fun at OU's expense.

Plus Rick Barnes is a worse coach than Mack Brown. Those two do just enough to stay employed which is good for us

no PokeJ all the way, I can tell by his type of posting and violant enuendo about all things coming out of Norman. I hate that man.
What doest that say about Jeff Capel, who is 2-7 vs Barnes? Does this mean Capel is doing just enough warrant not being employed?
Just sayin...
I think Barnes is a pretty good coach and I'd take him in a heartbeat right now. He's elevated Texas into the 2nd best program in the conference right now...a spot once reserved for us.
I gained a newfound respect for you, Booger, after following your posts in the '88 thread. Now here you go, doing your best to make me lose it. If OU ever trades in a Jeff Capel for a Rick Barnes, my lifelong loyalty to the Sooners may follow Jeff out the door.
I'm certainly not advocating trading in Jeff for Barnes, just playing devils advocate.
Texas was nothing in basketball before Barnes arrived. He was a solid coach at Providence and Clemson before coming to Austin and has done well since he's been there. I would agree his program seems to have crested as he hasn't been able to get over the hump (which is pushing Kansas every year for the conference title).
Texas, with the money, facilities, and in-state talent at their disposal should be the 2nd best program in the conference. Maybe Barnes is the reason they haven't been able to be better than 2nd best some years.
This year his team did underachieve, that's for sure, but you have to admit he's a solid recruiter and a solid coach. I have no problem admitting that at least. He also seems like a solid person from everything I've read, but I don't follow him that much.

Can't agree w/ this, as Penders did a decent job there, IMO. In his 10 years there, UT went to the Dance 8 times, averaged 20 wins, & won 3 conference titles (all SWC). They did lack consistent NCAA tournament success under him (1 EE & 1 S16), but it's not as if Barnes inherited an Edsel. I will agree that he's raised UT up a solid notch though.I'm certainly not advocating trading in Jeff for Barnes, just playing devils advocate.

Sampson had no problem keeping Barnes' whorns in their place. I expect Capel will continue that legacy, though I'll readily admit he's gotten off to shaky start. I'm obviously not as impressed with Barnes as you seem to be.
