I was friends with a TV guy here that was going to video and cover the Bedlam game in Stillwater and he invited me to join him. I was there in front of all their students for the whole game AND what I heard would amaze you. Those students called my Sooners everything (including the N word MANY times) and their moms and relatives stuff. And everything could be heard by me and the players.

So everyone in Stillwater that is so "surprised' that this guy said Piece of Crap should try sitting where I did. I'm sure this is similar in all arena's including OU's. My point is it happens everywhere and every game and the players have to get over it.

Again, my first hand experience will trump any complaining OSU fans are doing. Is it right? NO. But it will happen for ever and no one will ever stop it.

Desmond Mason was quoted on Sports Center as saying he heard talk like that in every arena he ever played in during his NCAA days and that players have to just ignore it. He also said that it's much, much worse at college games than at NBA games.

I don't think you can ever stop it completely, but I think you could diminish it somewhat by making an example of some of the worst offenders.

It absolutely happens everywhere.

My wife won't go back to a Football game in Norman ever because of some drunk and his daughter taunting her. Fans are assholes a lot of the time. It's just the way it is. Especially college fans.

Smart messed up. He's getting punished for it. Mr. Orr is taking a self imposed ban from Tech Basketball. Travis Ford may end up losing his job or he may end up a better coach from this. All I know is that I traded my football tickets to the Baylor game for some Basketball tickets to the Kansas game and up until about two weeks ago I was happy with the deal.

I have been to games all over the country and I would rate LSU, OSU and Texas Tech as having the most disgusting fans. Even UT fans are better than the 3 above.

We have our fair share of lame brained fans. Last year, I sat in the upper bowl of LNC for men's basketball games. There was a guy in the section who heckled the OSU team constantly. It was futile because no one on the OSU bench could hear him from there and annoying to the people who sat around him.

Guys, I ref college football and basketball for 25 yrs and I can tell you it is bad. We had a cheerleader, that's right, a cheerleader removed from a basketball game because of you mouth. I always felt as long as the fan didn't come onto the court or field that was his/her right to say what they wanted but believe me, it is really bad for the visiting player and officials.
