Kruger and Coale neither use screens for their best shooters. Bird and Vegas are left to their own devices. Why is that? ISt. just beat us with very good screens for their shooters and we dont notice? I confess I'm no basketball guru but I think I can recognize a screen (at least a good one) and I rarely see on from us.

It's a lot easier to set "good" screens when you can set them for any of 3-4 players that are on the court. On the flip side, it's not all that difficult to defend a player coming off a screen when you know he is the only scorer.

Need. More. Weapons.

Sherri has never been a big screen and roll type of coach. She has had some very good shooters, but mostly relied on the PG driving and kicking to open shooters. I know with D-Rob, it was her pounding the ball and either scoring, or creating for her team.

I have not followed LK's coaching style enough to know if he uses the screen and roll offense much. There are several simple sets you can run to help a shooter get open looks. Every screen set doesn't have to end up a screen and roll. I believe Fitz would be a good option in the pick and pop game, but not with Grooms initiating it...... Several motion offenses also rely on good screens to get open looks, and everyone on the floor has to screen for someone if it is executed properly.

I know its a small scale version, but my coach Doug Tolin, who coaches at OBU is an excellent motion/screen offense teacher. OBU is in the top 10 yearly, and they always score alot of points using his motion/screening down offense. I can remember 4 hour practices, with 2 1/2 hrs. being dedicated to setting screens and fighting through screens.

I would like to see a few more screens on offense with both teams, especially the women's team. We have executed some nice back screens to free Cam up for some lobs. I believe Osby could deliver a monster screen, and so could Arent, based on their physical stature...

Did LK use any screens at UNLV????

i haven't watched enough ou bball to comment on the season as a whole. however, when ou played kstate, ou ran pledger off more off ball screens than pretty much any team i can remember all year. it would strike me as odd if ou didn't do similar things when not playing kstate.

We do set a lot of screens. But they're typically two separate backdoor screens as Pledger rolls underneath the basket breaking out to the 3 point line. But, the problem is what WTSooner pointed out, other teams know it's coming. He's our only shooter. So defenders will always roll out to cover Pledge.

When Grooms's defender just sags and covers other people it makes it pretty difficult to get shooters open.
