Seems to me that we're probably locked in as a 10 seed, with an outside chance of being a 9 seed.

ESPN has us matched up against Nevada. I do not think that would be a good matchup for us. I think their 3 bigs would eat our guys up when they are on offense. Basically lead by the same three guys that went to the Sweet 16 last year, though every game they played was close (ie, they could have lost). Haven't been challenged much during the regular season the last two years, and I don't think they are a very deep team. They shoot a lot of threes. Three best players are seniors, next best is a junior.

CBS has us matched up against Auburn. Don't know a ton about them. Ken Pom has them as the 15th team (OU is 38). Their O rating is much higher than their D rating. Not sure what my feelings would be here. A quick glance says this may not be a horrible matchup for us.

From ESPN:
.....the Sooners will gladly become the first team in over 20 years to earn an at-large with fewer than eight wins in an 18-game conference season.

Still think we'd be in a VERY uncomfortable position had we lost one of those games against TCU, UT, or KU.

Hopefully, the following site is not correct in their prediction for Oklahoma and the Big Dance this year.

There are always going to be sites which don't have us in because of a 7-11 conference record coupled with losing to the last seed in the conference tournament. I stated several weeks back that we had to go 8-10 to get a spot in the Dance. However, I was off by a game and am fine with that. Still, as long as there is a human element to the selections, 7-11 is rarely going to be "safe" to get in regardless of the criteria they use.

As for the opponent, my family (a niece goes to Syracuse and a nephew graduated there) wants Syracuse to play OU in the round of 64...definitely a possibility. Just like in '15 when OU went against Albany (my brother and another niece graduated there), it's me against the family if we play Syracuse.

Doesn’t matter who we play. It will be a tough matchup. If teams have a decent big or an athletic player (and all tournament teams will have at least one of those) they will give us trouble. We can still beat a lot of teams on a given night but we have to outshoot the opponent which means we can’t be missing the easy ones. Odds are strong for one-and-done but will be hoping shots are falling.

Maryland is a 7?!
They’d beat us by 20

Ole Miss. A decent chance there.

UVA - 1% chance

Yup...1/1 I'll be elated. No comments from crew..interesting. Calling for ksu upset if Wade is out.

Let me proudly say....Piss on Ole Miss! Then bring on UVa. They need back to back horror show tournaments.

Agree on Ole Miss. They don't defend very well. Three point shooting team. Some pretty good guards, but their bigs don't seem very scary. Winnable game for sure, better than some of the matchups.

I'd say less than 1% against UVA. I know they historically choke, but the are a darn good team this year, and they are tough. They'll beat us up real good, then take our lunch money.

Sure they won't take our lunch money first and beat us up for the hell of it :D

Two more games tops and then our nightmare will be over. If the new players Lon brings in next year don't significantly improve our product on the floor, I will be calling for him to go. Right now I'm cautiously optimistic.

They might just beat us up and let us keep our lunch money. They probably have enough of it after this season. lol

Nightmare 🙄

Not sure what this means in terms of playing us, but Ole Miss seems to play to their competition. Good games against Tenn, UK, Auburn.....but also close games and/or losses against UGA, Arky, and Mizzou.

Seems like a very winnable game.
