Selection Show / Bracket Discussion

Just amazing. Screw Porter Moser. The man is just astonishingly stupid. Replace two 300 teams with Q3 games and we are in. Foul at Mizzou and we are in. Don’t go a month without a win and we are in. He can’t do any of those things.
I doubt a slighter better nonconference gets us in honestly

When did they start with the different criteria to get teams into the Tournament, then a different set to rank/seed them? That sounds extremely dumb when they talk thru it, and I don't remember that always being the case.

I don't know man. Our numbers might look a lot different if you replace a few of those games against the bottom 25 teams in D1 with teams closer to 150-200. Seems small, but I think it moves the numbers quite a bit.

Miami (OH) won 8 games by three points or less, including 2 in overtime. If they lose just one of those, they're 30-2 and probably getting ready for the NIT.

The committee wasn't going to leave a team out that was 31-0 in the regular season, no matter how many tomato cans they played. But the committee sent them to nearby Dayton for the First Four. SMU will be the best team they've played all year.

And they will lose too I'm sure

The Crown is a better option. No home games, the players can win money and it was a springboard for Nebraska last season.
I think the Crown is aligned with the Big Ten, Big East, and Big 12.

From USA Today: “The 2026 edition will remain in Las Vegas, but with a smaller field of just eight teams. It will have the top two teams from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East that didn't receive an NCAA Tournament bid, as well as two wild card selections determined by its committee.”

That sucks. NIT seems like a bad option.

Even more of a reason to avoid the NIT. It's going to be a poo poo platter of opponents.
