Sherri on the radio

Oklahoma Basketball ‏@OU_WBBall 32s

Coach Coale confirms Nicole Kornet suffered a knee hyperextension vs. UCLA and will be day-to-day.

Sherri said that sometimes when players try so hard not to foul, they end up fouling. She said Kaylon is averaging fouling herself out in 11 or 12 minutes.

She wants the players to play smart, play tougher, and rebound the basketball. She emphasized none of those things are difficult. She said SHE could grab a couple of offensive boards just because the ball will fall in your hands if you are making an effort to get to the rim.

She knows that all of the fouls are a process of learning and it will all work itself out.

She talked about the mistakes they made in the UCLA game and they will use that game film to get better.

I'm elated that this wasn't an ACL. I had high hopes since I didn't think she responded like the others who have had an ACL. She is either very tough, or an ACL causes more screaming.

It's good to hear Nicole is going to be okay. I was really worried that she tore her acl. We've had enough of those already.

Good news on Nicole K. Now when you get back in the games and feel whole again, get aggressive down in the blocks and get those rebounds and please please use the backboard when shooting those layups. Please.

Great news!!! Though she hasn't been shooting that well this season, she definitely brings some toughness to our team. I expect her shooting to be back in shape by conference play.

I don't think that was her expected role coming in and neither does it appear to be her style of play. Look at the competition on "the block". She will get battered faster than a pound cake for Thanksgiving dinner. She is a 6'1" 170 pound GUARD.

I was hoping Sherri would explain why she didn't keep going inside in the UCLA game when that play seemed to be open all day but she didn't mention it.
