This hurts. I wonder how much getting an offer to go to the same place played into this? And I told you guys that were worried about KU and NC that they weren't our biggest problems with Smart. He wanted to stay as close to home as possible. In my eyes, it was UT or OU. But OSU fits the profile too I guess.
I wanted this kid BAD.

Thank GOD we can finally get off this Marcus Smart ride. I would love to have gotten MS but, to be honest, never really wanted Forte. I also never even imagined for a second that they would end up in Stillwater though. I thought Smart would end up at UT. Oh well.

Ostate is landing top talent. I wish some of these recruits would land in Norman.

Ford IS landing top talent....and then doing very little with it.
I would like to see some of it landing in Norman as well......give Kruger some time and I think we will see some of it coming to Norman.....it is easy to be impatient though. LOL

Ford hasn't had a chance to play any of his top talent in a game yet. Ray Penn and Roger Franklin are the highest rated recruits that have actually seen floor time.
This will be the first season that Ford has had his high rated players suit up for him and play. Nash, Cobbins, Guerrero.

Yes I see your point. They are assembling a nice stable of players. Give Kruger some time and we'll see how his staff does.
How much time? The early signing period starts in a little over 2 months and we need some difference makers.
What is Ford getting done? He has 1 NCAA tournament win in his entire career.
We should have swept him last year.
As for these Dallas area recruits all of a sudden picking inbred U. I have personally been to T Boone Pickens office in Preston Center to pitch a deal. Does anybody seriously think there is no connection between these Dallas hoops recruits selecting Oklahoma A&M and Pickens feeding them or their handlers money?
The guy has always been a sleaze and there is a 90% chance he will get caught funneling money to these players.

We had a shot, as seen by where they ended up. They committed elsewhere, so yea, we move on to Plan B now. No harm no foul.

The fact that they CONSIDERED us means nothing in the end. They still aren't here and won't be. Whether they end up in Chapel Hill or Stillwater, does it matter? I never cared where else he was going. . . I was just sure it wasn't OU.
And ANY kid we talk to we have a 'chance' with. It was just obvious to me we weren't getting Smart but you want to try to throw it in my face because he went somewhere other than KU or UNC? ok. . . That is laughable. What are you, 12?
Fact remains he won't be in crimson and cream JUST LIKE I SAID.

Nonsense.
Your ENTIRE reason that OU wasn't getting them was that Smart would go somewhere like UT/KU/NC. They didn't. That means your entire premise was wrong. Just b/c he (they) didn't go to OU, doesn't mean you were right. Doesn't mean there was "no way" OU could have landed them. Truth be told, I think we finished second for both kids. That isn't a situation you walk away from.
