That effort Frank Martin's Gamecock squad put on in the NCAA tourney this year was magnificent. I dont think I have ever seen a team try harder.

I always liked the guy but had no idea he could push kids to that sort of focus. Thats good coaching.

The coach is the team, and the team is the coach. You reflect each other.

He just seemed crazed at KSU. He's done a great job at South Carolina.

He has really found his comfort zone at South Carolina.

His emotion last night post game was off the charts, players aren't just chess pieces to move on a board, they are flesh and blood people that impact people in so many ways.

That's what coaching is all about.

yeah I always thought is was an a$$ while at ksu...off the huggie bear tree. His time at USC has done well. Def like his coaching style, (now)..lol.

for a guy who was perceived widely to have got the KSU job to keep some top recruits when Huggy left for WVU and had a shady past in the Miami high school scene....he's done a great job both coaching and getting "buy in" from his players...and fans, media, you name it.

i htought he was an ass at ksu as well but still liked him. I liked his coaching style and his passion. And you could tell his kids loved playing for him.

I thought Martin was a strange hire at KSU and just designed to bring in AAU guys but not a coach they could count on long term. Then, I watched his teams play and quickly realized I was wrong. He is a good coach. guess I was right about long term but I think it was because they didn't realize what they had. KSU can't seem to keep a coach long term (more than 5 or so years) since Hartman.
