4 of the top 5 & 10 of the top 15 teams in the initial softball rankings are in the SEC. I’m thinking PG probably thinks that’s enough of a challenge, especially with the turnover in personnel she’ll be dealing with this year.

Well right now we are down 1-3 to SDSU because Landry gave up a three-run bomb in the 2nd. Had a chance to get more than one of those runs back but had several pop-ups with two runners on base. Of course one of them was Sanders, our veteran pop up expert.

For me, itis to soon to know about offense and pitching but we are nowhere near as good defensively as we have been. No real arms in the outfield and we will really struggle defensively at catcher. Not sure yet on the infield

Patty is the best and has made a million good decisions but when her coaching career ends her greatest regret will be playing sanders ahead of erickson and nugent causing both to leave. Sanders has to have blackmail on her. She has been our worst player for 3 years. When at the plate she just can’t see the ball.

It's also too soon to know about defense. If I were a betting person there is only one sure thing I would bet on for this season. We will continue to improve in all phases of the game, offense and defense. This team, including the coaches, is still learning how the pieces fit together to be the best version of a Sooner softball team. I always enjoy the seasons when new players get to show us what they can do, no matter the sport. Does that mean we will make it to the WCWS? I don't know but it will be fun finding out.

I hope they get better. Would love to see them in the WCWS, plus Nebraska and Oklahoma State....with OU..then someone else can pick the other four.

I do love watching Canady and Bahl play. Canady got a single off of Bahl in her first at bat today. Truthfully, I doubt either Nebraska or Tech can make it to OKC but I can still hope.

watching us STRUGGLE against Bowling Greene. actually probably going to take our first loss. Tied 5-5 going into the 7th. Our bats have been very bad today. Dayton and Sanders have gotten hits, the rest i believe have been on base by a walk but otherwise strikeouts or ground outs...Pitching has been BAD as well between Lowery and Deal..very concerning moving forward closing in on SEC play. Even if we pull this one out somehow.
