Something interesting

Have you ever noticed that there is no hatred towards UConn or Notre Dame? We tend to lose to Iowa State in Ames, but there is only respect. Baylor---we despise. But, then, we're not alone. When you do things that have the national press down on your tactics, you have earned the label of the most despised program in college basketball. Are there really any competitors for #1 in that category?

I don't despise Baylor, and I enjoy the fire Kim coaches with... She always seem to stand up for/have her players back on the court, and that's why her kids would run thru a wall for her if they needed to...

But I'll add Baylor isn't unbeatable @ got_Mulk maybe in the Big12 but I can't see them beating Uconn, ND, or South Carolina this season or next season...

OK. Let's ask a simple question. Mulkey is in the Hall of Fame as a player. Do you ever think the coaches would elect her to the Hall of Fame as a coach?

I don't despise her either. She is a great recruiter, great coach, and she wins championships. That's exactly what I want our coaches to do.

What is the reason she stopped having summer camps? To me it is a great way to get potential recruits on campus. I've never heard the reason. Are there pros and cons? I would think it would only be a positive.

No one really knows.

Hell, yes she's going to be in the Hall of Fame.

It's really comical how OU fans just pick apart and ridicule everything Baylor and Kim do. I bet if we were near the bottom of the B12 and not an elite or "tier 1" program that no one would care as much. I guess with success comes haters but that's okay cuz all we do is WIN and next year will be the same if not even better. Unless you can beat us in the paint, you have no chance ZeroU.

Got Mulk...I think you're taking it a little far while visiting our turf. I can listen to constructive discussion and opinion but lest you've come down with a case of amnesia, don't act like "all we do is WIN" because there were some days that you didn't. And if we ever get our recruiting act together again...it could be more of the same of this. Have you forgotten? Be careful what you wish for. PS...and the Baylor girls are still catching it from CParis in the league. I hope CParis finds some time to train/work with our incoming post players for next season. We'll need an accelerated course to compete in the post.

Edit: And I might add...one thing we KNOW FOR SURE is that SC didn't hire any AAU/Club coaches of the twins or any of her players. Now, maybe she should have BUT you can't accuse of her paying AAU coaches (they never went to her camps) and now she AIN'T GOT NO CAMP!

Didn't we just beat Baylor in the paint this game?

Overall...not really. We need to stop fouling (especially fouling out) in the paint as well. You can't contribute sitting on the bench. That will help us to beat them on the scoreboard.

Our bigs outplayed their bigs in spite of the missed layups. Even Kim acknowledged that. Their guards beat the living daylights out of our guards.

You have to ask yourself; how many layups did Baylor miss or even shoot under pressure.

The inconsistency and bad decisions this team makes is on Sherri. She can't avoid a lack of energy in a game occasionally, but it is a consistent pattern with this team. I'm sure Sherri is frustrated as anyone but only she can fix it.

I wonder if she is still using the men in practice. It is a practice I have never been fond of. I know it is supposed to make them tougher but for every minute the men are on the floor, five players are not getting valuable development time.

I am also puzzled about her rotations. We seem to have one player coming off the bench for a few games then someone else shows up with no positive effect. For example Derica was playing pretty well in a starting and then reserve role and suddenly she is not a factor and LaNeshia is playing. I just never know who is coming off that bench. Against Baylor someone was replaced in the first two minutes. Someone may have been injured or needed to hear something from the coaches, but I didn't hear about any thing like that. So much for your game plan.

One of the main problems is that the two players other than KayKay who were supposed to lead the team (Ortiz and Little) are having a bad year. Hard to win with that going on. I admire Edwards energy and drive but she is seriously lacking in some skills we need in a guard.

If this wasn't so pathetic, it would actually be funny.

Mulk got a little nasty here. Guess Kim is rubbing off on Baylor fans.

By the way, SoonerinNC, I wanted to compliment you on your previous post. It shows that real fans can critique players and coaches without being nasty or making it personal. Great post!

I bet you are a joy to be around at social gatherings. "ZeroU"? Cute. Better than RapeU...

I wouldn't send my daughter to Baylor. ZeroU chance.

Yeah, she did that years ago! Just like the players. Every foul against Hypocrite U.....Hands Up (with a WTF look!), just like Sulkey on the court!

My opinion is different. I don't think this team as a whole benefit from playing against "men" UNLESS they were playing against "men" before they came to OU...and I highly doubt it. They'll just end up getting hurt unless they are playing "men" that are not very good; slightly better than the women's team.

And your statement... "The inconsistency and bad decisions this team makes is on Sherri."...that is only true because she recruited (I think?) and signed them. It looks to me that they are really giving it all they have considering their experience.
