Bay has not posted here in a long time. Does anyone know why? I always enjoyed reading his posts. He is extremely knowledgeable about OU womens basketball.

I haven't seen him around for sometime either. Not sure if he still reads the board or not.

Don't miss him.

This is one reason he might not post here, yes he was a little hard on Sherri, making others here get on him for everything he would post, but some of what he said was very true.

Any criticism of Sherri posted on this board right or wrong makes the poster an instant enemy and certainly very unworthy of any future informed posts.

Saying Soonerbay was "a little hard on Sherri" is about like saying the Tea Party is somewhat conservative.

Soonerbay was hard on Sherri over and over and over and over with the same point. I like reading contrary opinions but after you read two of Soonerbay's posts you had read them all.

I apologize to Soonerbay for calling him/her him in my above post, shouldn't make assupyions.

Soonerbay hasn't been around (it seems) since the Paris twins graduated and we went to the Final Four without them. He/she didn't have much to say after that since he was of the opinion that the success of the OU program had very little to do with the coach. He probably also thought the program would be disbanded again (sarcasm) after they left the program anyway, so why bother? :D

I feel like the 2nd year the Sooners went to the final four had a lot to do with the Paris Twin, Drob, Amanda, and Abi all came to OU to play with the Paris twins and with out those 3 no way we go back to the final four. What I don't understand is why after all that success, the very big whole we've had in the post( yes Nicole is playing like her hair is on fire this year) since the twins left No elite big girl has picked OU.... tho baylor fans are asking themselves the same thing after win the NC and having a so so recruiting year...

I loved the Paris twins as well as Amanda, Abi, and Danielle. But, the only OU team to reach the finals made it four years before Paris arrived. Who, exactly, gets the credit for bringing in the team that built the OU program and took it to #2?

I'm here! I keep up with the threads every week or so...just not a regular anymore. Not as much of a fan and supporter of the program as I was from around 2001 when the team got my families' attention. I will always carry some great memories of OU women's basketball, but the disappointment of not not reaching the success level I believed was possible with better recruiting and overall improved skill development amongst a few other things...has just left a sour taste. It's one thing to do the best you can but not win a NC, but OU did not do the best that was possible...again, IMHO.

Hey Mac! Yes, it may have seemed a "little hard", but when I stated fact...it was fact. When it was my opinion, I stated such. Some find it hard to swallow truth. Happy Holidays!

True, but trust me...disagreements with my posts is not one I back away from. As I stated above, I still keep up but I would only be posting more of what I've already said and it hasn't improved. As for those that have a different opinion...so be it. Tough meat is always hard to chew and nearly impossible to swallow.

No apology necessary...really doesn't matter. FYI...I had at least six post versions. :)

Not true. The majority of my post were POST (no pun intended) Paris. No, I did not think the team would repeat a FF. Maybe the EE, but not a FF the next year. I forgot that there were enough players remaining that had the mental ability that is needed to reach a FF. NS , AT, DR and Hand immediately come to mind. AO showed that she benefited from practicing against and watching CP for 3 years. I didn't give them enough credit. I knew there would be continual digression until recruiting improves and that's basically where we are. There are not enough left to continue to reach previous heights. That's why strategic recruiting is important. Experience is so very valuable.

And your sarcasm is just that.

I agree totally.

The Baylor thing...their "so so" is an OU top 3 recruiting year! There are a few shying away with the NCAA reprimands, but Mulkey took strategic recruiting to a new level so they can afford an off year or two. They have enough on the team who have tasted of the fruit of the NC and FF!

I don't know but they need to get those people back in there! And if they are still there...then get back to doing what was working.

PS...don't take it too far. That was a year of a WHOLE LOTTA timing and luck...along with the players' desire to get it done.
