Spangler is taking it pretty hard fellas

He's heard from me on Twitter. I love the guy (as a player, I don't know him) and I feel for him tonight.

To Ryan: Turn that frustration into defensive fury. Use your booty and your hips. The real tournament begins next week. Real hoops fans all know that is just one possession. This whole state is proud of you. Go hard. Show em what Bridgecreek's all about. No matter what we got your back, like each and every one of this team. We are family.

He should, he missed a wide open layup to lose the game.

This can't be real. Is this really how you feel?

Spangler had a tough break. All of us wish he made the bucket, but none of us wish that more than him. Get some perspective man. He, and the rest of the team, did their best tonight and have nothing to be ashamed of.

Honestly, I want him to be taking it hard. If he didn't really care i would be bothered. At the end of the Caple era, it seemed our players no longer cared about loses. The fact that he cares means our players expect to win games. JMO

Yep. I'm glad he cared, and glad he's upset. Want guys who play with that emotion. I like guys who hate to lose more than they love to win.

Bad crap happens. This sucked. But what can you do? Just make it next time.

I know it's easy to do because of the timing, but I can't blame the loss on one play by Spangler. Maybe we win if the Big 12 player of the year shoots better than 30%. Or we get any contribution from our bench. It was a loss that a lot of guys contributed to, against a very good team. Oh well. Win the next one.

I dont understand why it is all "OU player failings" as opposed to "ISU player exceptional performances"?

Maybe Buddy shots so low because ISU did a great job of defending him? Maybe the ISU defense put on a stellar performance with tight, clingy defense tonight. I say maybe because that's what I saw. I saw Sooner players having hard times taking shots because the Cyclone players did a great job of defending. period. WHen this happens there is often a cascading effect caused by players having a hard time getting in a shooting rhythm.

The point here is quite often a good team plays a good game ... better so than the other team who may also be good. That happened tonight. ISU played well ... better than OU and better enough to best OU by a close 2 pts.

Excellent post. It's not always about us.

Without him this team would not be where they are. He is the Work Horse, Blue Collar, The Ditch Digger, the ultimate team player.

Im pretty sure no body cared when you missed some shot at your JV game...but you

All the douche bags in this post saying"ive been in his shoes" havent .

In my case it was for a state championship. Not a big deal in the big picture of life now that I have grown up but then again neither is what happened in the semis of a conference tournament.

Admit it. I suspect you might have run into it in a debate tournament.

People might get mad at this but I thought Iowa state just looked better.

He should be taking it hard. Anybody would be taking it hard. You would be hard pressed to find tape of even a high school playing failing to execute that wide open shot. He's got to be thinking "how did that happen to me?!?!?!?!".

Having said that what a spectacular play drawn up by Kruger, what a perect draw & dish by Woodard. Spangle didn't miss so much as the ball slipped out of his hand. He was probably shocked to be so wide open and well, sh*t happens.
