Starting Five for the first game next year

My reasoning
Some of these are common sense type (Cade, Carl and Drew based on experience) but TJ and Nick are somewhat unexpected. I am stepping out on a limb but I have my reasons.

For Nick this is based on me guessing Capel is going to try to emulate a Duke style motion option and Thompson is the best bet to play at the 4 due to his versatility and passing ability. Seems like Capel has wanted to do this for a well but has lacked the personal at the 4 to pull it off.

For Taylor I think he is even more of an outside box pick, just call it a gut feeling. I think T.J. has a D-1 ready body (size and athletic ability) plus I think he is going to be ready to play defense and compete which is going to get him some early starts.

I thought about this lineup also....but cade doesnt handle the ball extremely well (he does handle it decent though) so i put nick in there in case we want him to bring the ball up against a less athletic 4 in the small case blair is struggling getting the job done

If we need our bigs to bring the ball up court instead of rebounding, we are in worse shape than I even thought.

Goodness, if we're going to play the "what if" game, how can we have any lineup that doesn't include a senior like Blake Griffin?!?!?!? LOL!

The handful of times I have seen them in person while impressed with Cam I have also been impressed with how TJ seems more ready for a day 1 impact. Cameron's talent and his potential are great but his slight build could hinder him early on as he adjusts to college play. I know chico has said that Cam is putting on weight and that is great but that is something TJ doesn't have to do which I think is an advantage. The more I think about TJ and when I rewatch some of the film of them I get the impression TJ's game is going to be really similar to a Terrell Evertte/Nolan Johnson hybrid. TJ seems like the type who will be able to get to the line and finish in traffic while drawing the "and 1".

Just my opinion. I do believe that pledger and cam will get huge minutes off the bench and newell and CJ will get their shot as well.

Just my opinion. I do believe that pledger and cam will get huge minutes off the bench and newell and CJ will get their shot as well.

As always, I think you guy's are sleeping on Pledger, Unless your John wall or someone on that level, it's very hard for freshman to come in and play the way you guy's assume...I'm interested in some of the battles that are going to take place in practise...If "Cape" does the right thing and let them play and mix it up and truely "compete" for minutes...Ou basketball will be back.

I think The Starting Lineup will go through a few changes thoughout the course of the Non-Conference schedule as guys mature and get more comfortable with bigtime basketball. I'm excited about this team!

I don't think there is any way TJ Taylor starts game 1. He would be about 8th-9th on the depth chart one day one IMO.
