Stay Classy Duke

Yes Coach K did say let them celebrate but get his kids off the court. Sometimes teams stay on the court for 5-10 minutes before they leave. You cannot expect a crowed that wants to rush the floor to wait 5-10 minutes. Some of the Baylor players hanged around the court after there loss in Norman for a good 10 mintues. Of course we were not rushing the floor.

You should feel really ashamed when you get one of these :facepalm from me

I honeslty do think Coach K wants storming the court to be illegal. He just will not say it. I remember a few years back I think is was Roy Williams or someother high profile coach that said they should stop rushing the floor and he took some heat for it. So no coach will come out directy and say it.

But its just my opinion. And I may be over thinking. Been know to do that.

Why is it ridiculous. When you have been good for a long time and are highly ranked but lose, fans are going to celebrate.

Exactly.

Reminds me of when Nebraska football entered the Solich days fresh off 3 NC's in 4 years. Nebraska started losing to KSU, Mizzou, ISU, OSU, etc., and the fans of those teams tore down the goalposts. Some of those years, the Nebraska team they beat wasn't a great team, top 20 or so but not elite. They tore down the goalposts because of years of frustration. Same thing with this. Duke has been beating the crap out of ACC opponents for 3 decades now, so the teams that finally reach the mountaintop are going to react.

Just another episode. Just another example of the "progress" of the American culture. Civility is out of style; old fashioned.

At least they did not burn furniture in the streets after a big win.

An article on the Duke game unrelated to the storming of the court. I just found it interesting that at the end of the article the writer says Miami has assured itself a share of the ACC title based on the loss and that the loss makes the Miami game more intriguing.

How does the writer draw this conclusion. It makes the game less intriguing because if Miami beats either Clemson or Georgia Tech at home, they win the conference. I thnk it is pretty likely Miami wins both of those games and they only need to win one to lock up the conference.

What is going to be bad is if Duke beats Miami and gets a higher NCAA seed, when Miami is probably going to finish two games ahead of them in the conference. The only caveat is if Duke wins the ACC Tournament they might have earned the higher seed.

I would love to see Miami and North Carolina beat Duke and see Duke finish 4th in the ACC. The bozos on the selection committee will still give Duke a good seed but I will enjoy seeing them lose games.

Pretty much goes along with what I heard about Capel after he left. Not a good dude, from what I hear.

You heard right. Much bigger story on what he did to our program then most on this board know.

So what is this secret information you know? I suspect nothing. Capel was not a good coach but I have never heard he was a bad guy

Duke has been stormed on 28 of their last 32 road losses. I mean come on.

Hope Miami kills DUke today. Capel can curse that.

If you aren't going to say what he did, there's no point to hinting at it here. Makes you sound like just another blowhard.

Then lots of people seem to have missed it. There aren't very many apologists for Capel here. What are they talking about?

I vaguely remember it, so I'm not saying any more than this, but more than one person suggested Capel was pretty ugly to the people that worked in the basketball offices. That is what I saw posted. That basically the image that a lot of this board has/had of him, which is that of a patron saint that was a terrible basketball coach, wasn't really accurate.
