Steven Pledger will play for the Bucks in the Summer League

Great news!

While I don't really see Steven sticking in the NBA, glad he is getting a shot, and he'll likely end up playing overseas and doing quite well, I think.

That about sums up my thoughts as well. Best of luck to the young man!

Great news. I hope he hits his shots and gets a chance.

Best of luck to him. Will definitely be rooting for Steven.

I think Pledger is going to get abused on the defensive end of the court. He is just to slow both physically and mentally in my opinion to make it against NBA level players. Think about Pledger compared to Nolan Johnson, Hollis Price, Brewer, Ryan Minor, Skeeter Henry, Willie Warren, Taylor Griffin and many others. They were all pretty equivalent offensively (although in different ways) and every one of those guys was faster and more athletic than Pledger

Even if it doesn't work out for Steven in the NBA -- and I agree it's not likely to -- it's always better to be given a legitimate shot at your dream and fail than to never have been given the chance.

The worst is when you're left wondering, "What if?" or thinking "If only..."

Bucks played last night, but I didn't see Pledger listed on the roster, even as a DNP.

Anybody know why?

Odds are he was invited and cut when stacked up against other invitees. Yes? There is a certain level of athleticism required at the next level that 99.99% of all human beings do not possess.

Well it's a nice check for the summer which ever way it goes.

It was just a mistake, he made the boxscore for their game against the Pelicans tonight. Still hasn't played though.
