Still wondering if Ryan Spangler would have signed with OU if offered???

Ryan's recruitment started to pick up after the Peach Jam tournament in Atlanta. Many coaches thought he was going to play football and before that tournament, he was projected as a mid major prospect. By the time his stock rose, OU was unsure about their scholarship situation, only really having one spot which pretty much was promised to Goff since they recruited him going on three years. I can tell you that Ryan is a OU football fan and would have given OU some serious consideration if offered a scholarship. However, with that said, it doesn't automatically mean OU would have landed him.

As many have mentioned, he did play for Athlete's First and had no problem with players his own size.

Also, take it from someone who has watched Ryan play dozens of games (and no, I'm not related to him) Ryan does play with his back to the basket on his high school team, but he doesn't live down on the block. He does occasionally step out and hit some 3's, and shoots (and makes) a lot from the elbow.

And to william who said "it doesn't automatically mean OU would have landed him" if offered....may not have been "automatic" but it was about 99% automatic.

Well, then why did he sign so early??? That doesn't make any sense...

why are you acting like getting an offer from gonzaga is small potatoes. they are a much better program than us right now

I know, i accidentally hit quote instead of quick reply, my bad

I hear ya...

I don't blame him for taking an early offer from Zag, but he's as good as many think, why not wait? I think maybe he's a little bit of a reach, but I'm just speculating based on his lack of offers.

And, as some have said, this ain't Gonzaga of 5-10 years ago.

Ryan was one of my all time favorite Sooners. The Zags can’t claim any part of that young man. Capel screwed up by slow playing him, but he was Boomer Sooner all of the way!
