I don't think are strength and conditioning coach is getting it done. We don't have a player, Campbell sometimes, that can get a rebound under the basket and go right back up and make it. It is either blocked or don't have the power to get it to the rim. I have seen this night after night.

OU just destroyed a fair rebounding team that had the Big Twelve conference's number two rebounder by about a 49-25 margin. It was a matter of hustle, of "want to." We need a "want to' coach more than a better S&C coach.

Not talking rebounds, talking about taking the ball and putting it straight back up for a basket after rebound. Cant do it.

Although I have not heard any comments directly from players or coaches, I have wondered about that myself. Griffin has been in the program for 4 years and is still most likely the weakest player in the Big 12.

I'm wondering if she can only get so much stronger. If you think back to the way she was she's like a body builder now. There used to be times I was afraid she's break in two. The improvement by her the last couple of years is impressive. Last night she made some nice moves and had a couple of strong put backs. I know she has her limits and still looks like she runs in sand but I do give her credit for where she is now. I'm concerned by the fact you'd be hard pressed to slip a piece of paper between her feet and the floor. Hopefully the next 6'6" girl we get will be able to jump.

The strength and conditioning coach was not getting it done from 2005-2009 either, based on the opinions of many of the posters here. We have to decide do we want them looking like Ms. Universe (the body building contest vs pagent) and playing like Barbie...or getting the job done while their body type may not make the cover of Fitness. Remember CP? She could rebound, score, block, put a body on an opponent and wear them down before the half.

Don't get upset because Griffin does not have the body type to do that. She has the body type more of a Dwanna (sp?) Bonner (Auburn/Phoenix Mercury), but Bonner is a 6'4" 140 lb guard. You get what you recruit and sign.

I am not talking about how Griffin is built. She is just weak. She seldom ever finishes when she receives contact. She seldom ever wins battles for loose balls. She gets pushed around. It is easy to strip the ball from her. She just isn't a strong player. I realize some of that is a lack of "want to" but a good part of it is, she is weak.

I believe that she is as strong as she'll ever be. There is only so much muscle that can be applied to her frame. I don't know that I'd "want to" if my height justifies playing center, but I don't have the body type to compete effectively with a player that has a larger frame and more strength; typical of major DI programs. Most of the opponents she's faced in her college career are bigger and stronger. No match. Her height was the advantage in high school, but that ends in high school.

Does anyone else notice that Sharane seems to get winded real quickly.? I have wondered if she has a breathing problem. Anyone know?

Quickness is the best asset for getting the ball back up inside, Moxie is second (with experience helping-look at Larry Bird, couldn't jump, slow, but tricky) and Strength is third.
Griffin is slow, not strong, so she has to use fakes and height. Unfortunately she has only gotten a little better, although really working hard lately.
One of the few criticisms of Sherri's coaching staff I agree with is we don't seem to develop all of our players as well some other programs.
